Bud Bug

Yep thats about right , so 1L of AN @$9 , GH or any of the other over the counter products are
marking up roughly 18 times over the cost of the base chemicals. Really mind boggling ...

Whats wrong with a company making money especially if they package the product for mass consumption.

Yes I do see problems with advertising something for what it is not and making fairly tale statements and making baseless accusation about other companies but the packaged food is not different then sewing your own designer t-shirt for $2 or paying $40+ at the store.

Like to get more info on the "Myth of P" hypothesis Big Mike's on the bandwagon with ...and will get some informed opinions from the boyz over @ GH , u can be sure . And hopefully from
other pro growers here on IC .

Rather textiles & sewing , whats mind bending here is the bulk ingredient is water (obviously). No there's no problem with peeps paying money for someone to get these bulk chems into solution, jug them with catchy labels & mark them up , i buy them all the time & buy cocacola (diet) too,
it just gets u thinking is all....

;)

"Big Mike" Straumietis he's a hard one to get any info on ...but have read his 7mistakes growers make & all was very basic & pretty accurate grow techiques. but it was kind of a sneaky disguised "ad" , that found later was "Big Mike" of AN .

Here's his bio on SelfGRowth.com

* Here ya go , massive roots by Sensi A&B (great choice of names , btw )

PS: Anyone shelling out for "Kushy Kush" ? I got some free teashirts/product from the head west
coast sales guy ! He's moving nearby ...

I posted a couple of pics in this thread https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191007&page=4

Never fed above 40 ppm P. Sat night will be 5 weeks into flower...I will get another pic then and post it Sun or Mon.

You can judge for yourself if the plant is healthy or not and if the buds are developing properly at this low P. Funny thing is I now totally agree with ANs research...but if you do the ppm analysis of their Grand Master program apparently they do not agree with their own research. Could it be not selling MKP would hurt their profits?

Misinformation? I live in the UK and I have spent many years looking for a supplier of fulivc powder without success. There is a liquid fulvic of very good quality on the market but it;s 18 quid for 500ml so no cheaper than buying it from the hydro store.

I've not found pure fulvic online either, only humic/fulvic blend and it's black so as I said before, it's probably mostly humic.

I'm just relating my experiences, that's no misinformation. Maybe someone has been luckier than me and found a source of fulvic that won't cost a fortune.

There's a company called Viresco that does capsules of 75% fulvic, 5% humic, they are pretty expensive though, I think 15ukp for 25 capsules and I think they are only 1g capsules.

It's always been a mystery to me why it's so hard to find fulvic.

Could you share your source for phosphoric acid cause I'm sure others will like to get it at that price.

I was thinking about the equipment precision used for measuring the volume of the liquid.
I could easily get +-0.3ml with a syringe at 10ml, it could be even more with a measuring cup or something like that, than comes the scale with at least +-0.1 grams and then the inconsistency of the acid itself.

Either way, phosphoric acid with specific gravity of 1.6g/ml would be about 78% concentrated which is pretty good, or at least much better than I thought.

Oh now I get it, with the same tolerance in the other way it could be 1.5g/ml which is only 68%.

When you do a six sigma project the first step is always something called a gauge R & R. It forces you to determine the level of accuracy the tools you are using to measure things are capable of.

you cannot possibly achieve six sigma results when your instruments are not capable of measuring with that, or higher, levels of accuracy.

fortunately for us plants do not seem to require that level of sophistication

I've never used AN but just started using CES's Bloom. I was told it's similar to AN. I had good results with it and Fox Farm solubles.

im sure someone on this thread can tell you how to set up your own laboratory and mix your own CES for a tenth of the price

Just started to get in on the "Lets put Big Mike from AN in the Spotlight "
movie ....

AN's Bud Candy to start:

A 1L bottle of AN Bud Candy is $23.70 on Amazon ...and one listed ingredient
is 0.5% Mg derived from MagSulphate which Big Mike is prolly buying from china for 22c/kilo
http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Nutrients-Bud-Candy-1L/dp/B003OTZ2PW

here's "Bud Candy" label from AN with one listed ingredient 0.5% Mg
http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/oregon/oregon_labels/BudCandy_Registered.pdf

Some Chinese pricings for mgso4... how many 1lt bottles of Bud Candy
could we make from one 25c Kilo of MgSo4 (98%) at the above dillution ?
About 4000L's for $2 ??

They're making this stuff for fraction of pennies ...including packaging, labeling, advertising & retailer

will let someone else do the math....

" Bud Candy is Dandy , but Liquor is quicker !! "
(AND FAR MORE CHEAPER!)

Are you saying there is nothing in Bud Candy other than some mag sulph? Not buying that one, I'm sure it has more in it than that.

all of the "bud sweetners" are basically epsom salt. they may add this or that but the truth is the this or that is just to keep you from figuring out it is plain old epsom salt.

sulfate is what really feeds the terpines...not the only thing of course. Hell just use a formula with plenty of SO4 all of the way through and don't worry about some bullshit sweetner.

you don't exactly see apple or grape growers buying into this kind of bullshit...and sweetness is a little bit important to them.

Yeah, sulphates do increase terpenoid production it seems. Molasses has a fair bit and I add plenty of that and also add a pinch of epsom with every watering so I doubt I'm missing out on much with not using something like Bud Candy.

Supposedly, Bud Candy has Vitamins C and B, Arabinose, Dextrose, Glucose, Maltose and Xylose carbs. It has everythging in it that Carboload has. Plus the propper aminos. You can use liquor in place of Bud Candy? Anyone know how to feed vitamins C and B and the propper aminos? You have to buy AN product, right? I read that egg whites have all aminos but it also has unwanted aminos doesn't it? I'm on a serious budget ATM.

Feed your plant a balanced formula and it will create those things itself. You don't need to feed them. That kind of bullshit is the biggest scam ever...well ok not ever (that would be religion) but you know what I mean.

Did you guys know that AN had a deal with Ed Rosenthal for a signature series of "premium" cannabis specific nutes, and After making a product line, catalog, magazine ads, media kits, but suddenly the deal was dead. who do you think wanted out???
Who cares? Ed Rosenthal could outgrow me with with eyes shut, but it seems to be a perfect fit. Heck, just buy any Big Buds Book and you'll see the Ch9 seeds in them....seriously.

Advanced Nutrients is more expensive than all other nutrient lines. What they do well is provide a product that ph is not an issue. I've grown with many nutrient lines and Advanced was the best result. Not the easiest to measure. Small amount goes a long way ...compare to Roots Organics. I grow organically, and I'm sure someone who uses the subcool soil with just water outgrows me with all the AN products.

Grow chemically for the yield, grow organically for the taste. I prefer organically. My preference is vegan for the taste regardless how much you flush.

Their return policy is 100% guarantee, but takes forever to get a refund as friend found out. Good growers don't need the WHOLE Advanced Nutrient line. Their ads blow with their claims.

I'm currently using the vegan line from GH, and considering the Canna line, but as a fitness expert, nutrient products are like fitness supplements, most are not needed.

Just my experience, only have grown 60 different strains, a rookie.
