Adding supports stakes to established roots?

I have very bushy plants, and need to bend them out to make sure I have enough ceiling height after the stretch. I added a good amount of steaks to the pot, before transplanting, but would like to add more as it stretches. Can I damage root balls, or structures by jamming stakes into the coco for support and training? I have always tried to add steaks before the roots expand to their new pot.

thanks for info.

yes, you will damage them but not enough to hurt anything. wherever the roots get broken they will branch and start growing again.

push the stakes down in the corner of the pots and you will be fine
