Adding heat to bring humidity down ???

After switching out my cooling equipment I really like my split AC system . At night I just noticed in week 2 that when my AC cycles off the humidity is jumping to the 70s with my dehumidifier running . It goes back down to 50% once the AC cycles on . Would adding a small heater do any good at night to keep the humidity steady at 50% it sounds counter productive but I have to ask , thank you in advance QQ and community .

Another , would the quest 105 stomp 2 x Danby 60 pint dehumidifiers?

As long as you night temperature doesn't exceed your daytime temperature or the plant's comfort zone I don't see a huge problem.

Except that if you add a heater then your AC would have to run some more most likely.

Luckily Fall is coming and cooler air will be available again.

Put the AC and heater on timers, the slower and less the temp changes after lights out the more the dehumidifier can do its job. They do work better with a higher temp.

Or you could have 2 small vents with a fan that only really comes on when the lights go out to blast the main bulk of RH out through a scrubber somewhere.

2 dehumidifiers woul

the heater will cause the AC to kick on and the humidity could be controlled if you put the heater on a humidistat. humidity rises above setpoint, heater kicks on. The ac and heater will fight each other but it will work as long as your heater is not putting out more heat than the ac can remove.

A dehuey is also a heater due to the latent heat in water. ( the Quest 155 generates about 10,000btu). Running a dehuey and ac together is counterproductive as far as the ac has to remove more heat but that's how we create our environments.

a Dehuey/ac is more efficient vs electric heat/ac combo.

Why does your Ac cycle off? Are you turning it off at night? Are you trying to minimize stretch with a cold dump? 70% rh is no big deal my rooms are beds and get way higher humidity at night I don't really deal with it until the last 3 weeks when I use a quest 3000 to lower my night humidity, my rooms are in the 60s f night temp at this point to harden and bring out colors ...as long as you don't have pm or have treated for pm you won't have an issue...the quest is aham rated awesome Dehu, the danbys are crap

Put another
dehuey in the room. I myself run two when the lights are off, for the same problem you were having.
