Adding commercially available Terpenes to Edibles

I have an abundance of clean oil that I have decarbed for edibles. I was wondering if you could add food grade, or any type of, terps to them to change the effect.

Amazon sells terpenes like Limonene and Myrcene but the warning labels make me hesitate to eat them. :chin:

So are there available terpenes top be added to food or should I stick with essential oils?

Thanks!!

I guess I just don't appreciate the entourage effect as much as others, but not to discourage the idea, why not use lemon oil, it should have limonene in it might find orange oil too. good luck.

That is definitely the fall back. Just wondering if there is a better way. I would ideally like to emulate the ratios in popular strains and see if there is any difference.

i used food-grade Limonene in one of my cookie batches, mainly to get the burnt taste out of the meds. worked fine, cookies tasted great with a lemon twist. i was really just using it as a more efficient substitute for lemon juice and since i had a bottle of Limonene laying around, figured why not (it's used to make candy and other types of food products, safe for consumption, "food grade"). Used quite a bit of it. Ate the whole batch of cookies. no ill effects.

IMO the best edibles taste like the food they are. FInd a way to remove any cannabis flavor and make the "treat" or food as awesome as it can be while delivering a good dose and your treats wont stay on the shelf!

I actually prefer chocolate with cannabis flavor over plain chocolate. Regular brownies taste like they're missing something. That special herbal flavor.

Send me your rotovape and I'll make some clear with it. :woohoo: lol

Honestly, I think I am more in the realm of m314. I can cover the taste of herb or remove if I wanted but I like knowing I'm eating cannabis. I would especially like if I could mix up some terps and make the candies taste more like Sour Diesel than Sour Lemon.

I agree m314, make some mac and cheese with cannabutter. After the first few batches, plain mac and cheese is just lacking lol..however the most full spectrum effects come from simple high quality BHO decarbed diluted in cocunut oil..the problem is the terpene loss during decarb. I believe that added terpenes after could bring the edible effect closer to smoked cannabis. Also, a pure sour deisel tasting hard candy or a true kush/chocolate taste in a bar, brownies, or fudge sounds like the most delicious thing ever created.
