I got a new light that is 240v only there is 30a dryer receptacle in my room. I'm currently using it for my dryer, but, the dryer is already never used when the light is on so there would be no conflict for load. I need to run just a single 400w ballast, so for sure under 3a. Can I just add a 6-20R or 6-15R receptacle in a junction box and connect it to the dryer receptacle? I will get either a simple 240v timer or a contactor with a 110v coil for timing.
