Adapter question, safety!

Yeah, looking around for one with a ground. Times like these I wish I could run my on outlet in there, but.... I'm setting here stoned looking up at a celling fan with about 300 watts worth of bulbs and not counting the fan. Don't think a grounded adapter would work?

I wouldn't do it quite like that because there's not a ground for 3 prong plugs.

If it's a newer place with black, white & ground in the ceiling box, you may be able to substitute a receptacle & cover for the existing light fixture. You'll also need to create a strain relief for the cords.

If it's an older place, it may not be that way. If it has old 2 slot receptacles, there's no ground wire there, either, maybe not anywhere except where new work has been added. Always check receptacles with a meter or tester to be sure you know what's there.

Thanks.. I was looking at the light out let and yes, its black and whit and a ground. So, I could just replace that with and outlet, right? *after doing some reading ;)*

I would recommend an LED headlamp for doing the work, and make damn sure the breaker is off. If you don't have a multimeter I would strongly recommend one, as well as a polarity tester.
