Ace's flowering times

The flowering times Ace puts on it's website, are those counting from flip or from when first pistils appear? The reason I ask I got a Zamaldelica F in week 10 from flip and it is looking like she's not gonna need much longer. I didn't expect that, because I usually don't this close to the times breeders suggest, even when starting the count at first pistils. I never gave that much thought, as I am not able to provide perfect conditions.

I remember Dubi posting a response to this exact same question in another thread at some point although I am unable to find it now. I believe his answer was that the times posted are based upon when the first real pistols appear.

I think as with anything dealing with plants there is a lot of natural variation and there will always be outliers in a population when it comes to a given trait.

Here are a couple of pictures:

Swollen buds up to the point the branches can no longer hold them up by themselves. No more white hairs, except on the very top, but trichomes still predominantly clear. She is a little hot, or has been at some point, at least that's my interpretation of the curved leaves. There isn't much I can do about that: airflow is at max atm.

I don't do clones, but yeah it seems this is a really quick pheno. I got a Panama next to it that's still all hairs!

I quick dried a sample from the main cola today by steaming it in the microwave. I didn't think it was doing anything until I finished the whole J, then it hit me hard. Nice, clear sativa high... highest I've been in a while lol. It's not quite there yet though, because I'm one hour in and already planning my smoke

Quick dried sativa buds ime has never lived up to nugs that have cured for a good month. The trichs will cloud and amber up over time, weather the plant is alive or not. UVB light will hasten the change, too.

But that is a very nice looking bud for only ten weeks!

Clones of sativas are an excellent way to manage plant height and side step the immature seedling stage, too! (time saver)

Someone asked me details about my grow through the karma system, but I cannot see who (what's up with that?). I'll just put them here:

Started in 11 liter bucket in Gold Label soil/coco mix that I amended with some wormcastings, mycos and a little dry organic fertilizer. Veg 3 weeks under MH, including some time to recover from a fim operation. In flower (250 watt HPS) she got some guano topdressing, a weekly dose of Bac Bloom and a weekly EWC tea according to Microbeman's recipe (www.microbeorganics.com). I am sure the tea really packs on the mass. Very easy plant, and the least stretchy in my tent. In fact I had to raise the pot to have her keep up with the rest.

No, I don't think so. The days of always having a grow going are behind me. I need only one 3 to 4 plant grow a year to fulfil my needs, and since the authorities are increasingly frowning on my little hobby, I don't like to take more risk than needed. Besides, I have a Panama going in the same (and only) tent that will need many more weeks.

I know, it really is a shame - if not a crime - to let go of such a wonderful pheno. I'd donate it to someone, but I don't know anyone else who grows.

Leave some bottom growth when you harvest and start revegging that plant. Make your final decision whether to let it go or not when you can sample the smoke at it's best. All you need is a cardboard box with a CFL.

You can find early phenos in malawi, golden tiger and zamaldelica although they are not very frequent in this type of pure sativa hybrids. Hope you are enjoying your flowers!
