Ace Malawi Reg Package Seed Variations

I had several Mw Reg seeds that flowered last season, one of which was distinctive from the others: much smaller, thistle-like narrow leaves, many tiny flower clusters. What is the smaller variant? It seems much more potent despite the smaller plant and flowers. A pleasant black pepper scent and flavor. Sun-grown. Outdoor. 9' foot plants. Ace Seed Packing date 01.09.15
