A Jamaldelica amongst waterlilies
how extraneous
yet so splendidly matching
what have we got here
a hidden poet
or a photographer's eye
or both

I've got to love Jamaldelica...

'For people who live in areas covered by water during the monsoon season, such as the riverine areas of Bangladesh, it is impossible to grow crops. Practical Action has developed a technology to allow farmers to grow food on flooded land.

The floating garden is a clever solution that employs the use of water hyacinth, which is collected to construct a raft. This is then covered with soil and cow dung, in which vegetables can be planted. A new raft needs to be built every year, but the old one can be used as fertiliser during the dry season.'

...floating weedfields in a recirculating körfez river, fed by fish and fish by worm...

quit this show and turn the wheels?

yea the aztecs first came up with that invention to grow corn they were called chinampas they eventually used this advance in farming to increase their population and build a city in the middle of a lake that would eventually rule southern mexico because it was well protected by the lake. with a feathered fist since thats what they used as armor lol. the spanish had a field day with those crazy indians and i for one am thankful since i have a spanish last name. sorry out of topic carry on.

Stretchy beasts! I like them a lot.
How much does the Malawi stretch from start flowering, from your experience?

I have a couple outside, still very small now, but I can't wait to find out what they will be able to do.

Zamal hash looking sooo yummy!

he kooninger,

i flowered her from rooted clone, 3 or 4 nodes ~5cm height.
she measures now ~67cm, i expect her to go till 80-85cm.

i also think its a combination of this phenotype, wormtea, submerge watering and foliar applications...

she stacks like...Mama Africa:bow:

That's a lot, if I may say it unscientifically, she will stretch around 1600%!
Taking in account I'm a tall man and like long legs...but this...I was not prepared to hear.
I'm a bit scared now:)

Thank you for detailed measurements. Happy growing:biggrin:

Hallo Jungs!

This Jamal Hash started at less than 1 cm from seed.
Now it's more than 220 cm (what's the percentage? :woohoo: )and I had to play Prokrustes to keep things under my thumb,
but tackling her oestrus stretch... end of June...don't know...I guess I'll have to improvise.

I can't shoot the entire bulk due to space restriction, one of the problems the Titans have...

Hey, Ruedy, sorry but I'm not Spartan but Olynthian!

he brother,

This malawi pheno behaves strangely when i compare her to the other malawi i see here in the forum. As she matured the leaves got that very thin needle look, i think the first clones(not mature) flowered under the flouros have not shown her true potential.
I have not grown other malawi so i can only talk for this one, but when i imagine what will happen in a pot like 10 liter, im also a bit scared, will she break the ceiling then?

What i did with the first tests, was cut their top after 14-21 days and because of her ongoing stretch she made quite nice branches then which were nicely to control in height. but it definately looked ugly for a week...

It is important to be very careful with the nutrient dosage after topping her in early flowering! the green mass that get cut off can shock the roots, as they try to maintain the flow of nutrition to the tip of the plant. one can really see her 'bleeding' for a few days.
In this case it is not a good idea to water till saturation point or give her any further nutrients before new growth appears.

i hope this could help you somewhat!

Rüddense,
your advices are not directly applicable to my conditions, but information of this sort surely helps in many ways. Just by thinking of root stress related to topping one can better understand(or imagine) the way a plant functions and think about relations between plant parts.
I think your experiments are of great scientific value for any sort of growing style.

Thanks for the insights:respect:

I am very impressed with your growing style. Am I correct, you have 300 watts of CDM lighting in your flower chamber?
