Accidental pollination: do I still let the plants mature as usual?

I just found out my current grow got pollinated. I can't be sure what happened, but I am leaning towards a male that was removed too late and dropped a bit of pollen. This because I can't find balls anywhere, the buds are only lightly seeded and the seeds are on the inside of the buds. Yield doesn't seem to be affected too badly either.

My question is if I should let the plants mature as usual, or harvest earlier or later to get the best bud. Viable seeds would be a bonus, but I don't really need them.

3-4 weeks and the beans should be ready..

You need to look where the seeds grow...
Cause it can mold when the beans(ready-beans) are in the middle of the FattBuds later in flower.

Look later the trichomes to get the right day of harvest what you want.

Thanks TDK :tiphat: I am growing pretty airy sativas, so mold is no concern fortunately. Conditions are dry anyway (<50% RH).

Do plants that are pollinated senensce quicker when their seeds are ready? You mention beans take 3-4 weeks to get ready, and 4-5 weeks into flowering (real flowering, not the flip) is when my fan leaves started yellowing. I thought that was a bit early, and weird because I had different strains in different kinds of soil, so it would be an amazing coincidence if they all had the same problem. An early pollination could explain that, if pollinated plants give up earlier.

It only takes a few micrograins of pollen to have seeds flourish. Is this your own stash? You can always use the seeded tops as a tincture, or trade/give away seeds to someone 'paying it forward'.

Seeds CAN finish in 3-4 weeks.
It's very atypical, ime & you'll end up with a bunch of immature seed casings. If you let em go they'll be healthier if they go 5-6 weeks.

Seeded plants do seem to finish just a tad faster. This is probably due to the plant going into overdrive trying to produce the next generation of seeds. However, you'll only reduce flower time by a week or so.

How much longer do you have for flowering to finish?

Yeah, it's my own stash. I think the tops will be perfectly smokeable if I take care no seeds end up in my blunt. Like I said, it seems to be only lightly seeded. I was just wondering if there are different harvest timing 'rules' (compared to sensimilla) to get the best quality weed :)

I'll gladly share my seeds, I'll have plenty. I don't know the father though, might be a hermie but I don't think so.

harvest as usual..for seed plants I actually let them go longer but you aint needing seeds...I tend to let seed plants go about 2 weeks longer yeehaw..which is why I get awesome germ rates and great long term storage ...

Faster huh... I like that :) I am growing a few strains together. Two plants are already drying after 9 weeks from flip, two more are 1-2 weeks out and one looks like another 4 weeks at least.

I don't need the seeds, but I guess I will get a fair amount anyway :) I will be harvesting at the usual time (when 90+ percent of pistils are dead).
