Accidental Grow

Hello everyone,

Long story short. :)

I was cleaning out a cupboard, throwing everything away, and discorvered 10 seeds from at least 2 years ago. Couldn't bring myself to throw them away so split them between 4 pots and planted them under some old compost.

I now have 8 plants under about 200w of CFLs growing nicely. I didn't mean to start growing again but it looks like I have but under CFL this time!

Any CFL advice please??

Yea you want the lights as close as possible, like 2-3" for cfls, unless you want stretch, in which case ignore that advice

Thanks for the replies and advice!

I will post pics when I can, but it may be a while.

They are as close as I can get them to the lights without burning leaves. About 3 inches away, any closer and they grow in to the heat zone while I'm not watching. (A couple of burnt leaves to prove it!)

I was considering a scrog, or maybe some lst to make the most of the light. That or just surround the "cola" area with as much light as possible?

My next mission is more ventilation, wish me luck

Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!

My space is 50cm wide 50cm deep and 70cm tall at the moment, with sideways expansion possible.

Does it help to turn the lights off for 4 hours during veg? I haven't seen any advantage before apart from the obvious energy reduction?

the plants will stretch more during the dark hours. so, in your case, with limited space and low penetration lighing, I would recommend to go 24/24 hours.

Now a 70w HPS and 200w CFL grow.

Now a 70w HPS and 200w CFL grow.

Hi All,
I'm not sure I can recall everything that has happened since I accidentally started growing again but lets just say I have made some progress. ;)

I've now got a 70w SON-EI HPS as the main light source and 10 X CFL as supplemental light. (Between 16 and 22 Watts)

My main plant is a 1st gen Karma Train clone that has been in 12/12 a while.

I'll try and get this up to date over the next week or so :)
