AC & Heater or not? Do you need them?

Hey everyone,

I'm going to be running a 12X10 sealed grow room, EBB & Flow w/ rockwool and hydroton W/ 4 x 1000 Watt HPS vertical lights. I'm projecting to run C02 at 1100 PPM and a Centrifuge fan on recycle (sealed room).

If you have your fans cool the room with a centrifuge also at least cycling the air & humidity being taken care of.

Do I need Air conditioning or heating??

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks fellow farmers.

Happy grows.. GrowtechLB

Sealed room means no air going in or out. There is no cycling of air? I cycle at night to relieve my dehuey thats it

You need 4-5,000 BTUS per bulb.... Also a nice 150 pint dehumidifier...

If your area does not get cold at night, but if your planning on seeing swings greater than 10 degrees I'd get the one with a heater too...

Time will tell after you get started what your swings will be in RH, and temp etc...

Thanks a lot respect, appreciate the help. I'm just trying to get a solid plan for this room. I'm halfway through construction and want to make sure I'm well planned and ready. Started a new thread that unfortunately got posted 3 times.. check it out though any input would be awesome man, this is what I settled on for my set-up

we have some pretty warm and humid weather here. i have never felt that i needed an AC unit but i do use a small heater in the winter to maintain a 72 deg. F grow room. a lot of growers will disagree with me on this topic but i will say that i think cannabis will grow quite well up to 88-90 deg F (sometimes even warmer). a good air flow is needed and for my space which is 16x12 i have an 8 in. blower pulling hot air out of the space and in from the outdoors. i have another blower that is 6 in. for days when the temps climb above 80 deg. F. my grow space is heavily shaded by live oak trees which makes it nice in the warm months. i don't cool my light (600 wt.) as my char. filter is inside the grow space and it pulls everything out at once. i also have 3 large oscillating fans running on high which keeps the air moving from different directions. recently i have stopped growing in the warmer months, not because its too hot it just that i only grow for myself and a few friends and one crop per year is more than adequate, it is also the time of the year when we travel. if you are unable to provide a strong air flow you wont be able to deal with the heat and you will be wasting your time. this is merely what works for me and before you place any value on my opinion i would research more, i never want to give bad advice to anyone. good luck... peace.

I dont use heat, I do use AC to cool the room. I use bare bulbs so cooling the environment is much more efficient then cooling the lights alone. I can also control the humidity.. I can use the AC's built in Humidity control or I can use my 50 pint Dehuy takes allot less electricity to run..

I like to control the environment. Doing this is much more efficient then trying to cool your lights alone.
