Absolute Amber from Banana Silver Ladyboys

I don't think you can work around the issue of terpene degradation due to heat based on my limited knowledge. That is, heat degrades terpenes period. Heat, the great destroyer....
Of course maybe the wiser folks can jump in and give a more thorough answer.

The problem we face is terpenes boil off at a much lower temperature then the butane, even in the softest purge to get it somewhat clean your losing many terps.

Thanks Arkady2300, imo now it looks much more realistic! :thank you:

I have no links, my friend told me how they make filtering materials for air purification from aerosols.
He said the rejection of the filament, probably by an electric field, rather than an electromagnet.
I do not know whether this is a common practice or a secret invention.
I tried to find links in Google and YouTube, there are many related technologies, but I have not found this one.

Then, our conversation arose from my interest in substrate STG synthetic wool from PET, suitable for hydroponic cultivation.
In this context, I came across a note of manufactured the wool with cotton candy machine from ground PET bottles.
Cotton candy machine extrudes the melt in the form of thin filaments of a rotating extruder head
with the top-loading, electrically heated to melt and the spinnerets on the perimeter,
a very small holes, through which the melt is extruded by centrifugal force.

A fine machine, but it is not simply to unite with the vacuum.
A much more promising is a long tube, which is located vertically,
where the top is an extruder and at the bottom - the receiver.
But this device also does not seems to me very simple in design and manufacture, its just the fantasy.

Perhaps if successful, material appears in similar consistency with the Rockwool made of BHO? :)

Interesting thought brother Jump. What a fertile mind you have!

I have never seen the PET filter spinning operation, but they make glass wool, by feeding molten glass through a hot spinning disc (short large diameter cylinder) with a bazillion small diameter holes in the outer perimeter, so that part sound like a similar process.

No clue on the magnetic waves to control distribution yet.

What might be easier in our application, is to feed the oil solution through an orifice under high pressure, into a vacuum chamber. The high pressure could be easily achieved using a pneumatic or hydraulic multiplier. The sudden decompression into a vacuum, would ostensibly create explosive out gasing and sudden loss of heat.

I have a 6" diameter X 6" stroke pneumatic cylinder in the treasure pile, which would generate over 3,600 pounds pressure on a 1" piston at 100 psi air pressure, or 14,000 psi on a 1/2" piston, but orifice wear would rise with the pressure.

From a practical standpoint, for higher pressures, finding an orifice smaller than (1T) one plate thickness in wear resistant nickel cobalt alloys like Stellite becomes an issue and only 1T would require significant hard backing to support high pressures.

Fertile food for thought and scheming............ Hee, hee, hee..............

How did it taste?
I did not test to compare it with the original AA.
I do not consider myself an expert, and I avoid evaluating flavor and strength.
I do not think that amber became more fragrant, also do not think its strength has diminished.

To the touch, it was the same hard and brittle, not sticky, and totally transparent.
Activated charcoal reduced the total amount of amber from 1,05 g to 0,9 g.
Three amber fragments were combined into a single ball.

As can be seen in the photo, its diameter is 1.2 cm, which corresponds to the volume of 0.9 cc.
This leads to its specific gravity is 1,000 g/cm3, equal to specific gravity of water.

But the ball quickly sinks in water, indicating that there is an error in the measurements.
If the error is just 500mcr and real diameter is 1.15 cm, then volume is 0.8 cc,
and the specific gravity of amber is 1.13 g / cc, that sinks in the water.

Comparing the volume of the ball with a volume of gland head of trichomes,
we can calculate the number of trichomes participated.
Its absolutely useless information, just for fun.

V/v=(D/d)**3=(11500/100mcr)**3 =115**3_____= 1 520 875
___________________/50mcr_____=230**3_____=12 167 000

Depending on the distribution of their size, the number of trichomes is ranging
from 1.5 million (100mcr) to 12 million (50mcr).
:)

Hee, hee, hee, good job brother Jump!

Just the sort of deep pondering that I enjoy, while testing new product!

Contemplate that despite how many there were, they are "One" and the sound of handshakes across the big waters!

PS: Purdy enough to be faceted and mounted in a setting!

Because of cavern on its surface this amber at any angle created evil or stupid faces.
Amber is inherent in Rorschach effect.

I purged the everclear at 200f, it went a lot faster. I got about a gram from about 7 or 8 grams of premature bottom nugs. Did it in a thermos for 2 hours. 1 can of power 5x

I don't remember if there is a winterization thread, so if anyone wants to know what happens when you substitute other things for Everclear, there's this patent. It pre-dates GW Pharma winterization claims that were patented anyways.

The relevant part is at the end where they analyze the use of different alcohols with different amounts of water in them, and other things.

I wonder why El-Sohly won't say how much solvent was used to elute the silica gel columns, while giving all details for the others. Or do more THCA partitioning experiments.

The concentration of delta-9-THC in the initial cannabis extract is a function of the potency (% THC) of the starting plant material. For example, cannabis plant material with THC content of approximately 3% will produce a hexane extract of approximately 35% THC in the first extract and less than 20% in the second extract which might necessitate keeping the first and second extracts separate for further processing. Cannabis biomass of 4% will produce a first hexane extract of approximately 40% THC and a second extract of slightly over 20% THC, while extracts of 5-7% THC plant material will produce a first hexane extract of 45-55% THC with a second extract of approximately 25% THC.

Nice extract, from what I can see, but I agree on your picture doesn't do it justice.

Alas, I gave my Coolpix to my daughter and picked up a SLR digital, only to find that I needed another lens costing almost as much as the camera. After pundling up the funds to aquire the lens, I discover that 1:1 macro lens is insufficient magnification for prime trichome shots, even with an editing program, so I need a bellows or extension tubes.

Next on my list and wondering what is next...................

for prime trichome shots,

I use pocket camera Sony TX5, before this one I used another pocket Sony T3.
Both may focus on 1cm from object that provides macro effect, no additive lens or flash were used.
Sure it is not enough for prime trichome shots.
