About to buy an LG Minisplit... Parts list question.

Hey this goes out to any one with an LG mini split.

Im about to buy one by December. I need to know what parts I should get for a DIY install..

So far my list includes a
Vacuum Pump
R-410 Manifold
Pipe Cutter & Pipe Flare (Just incase)
R-410 tank, incase machine discharges during a run (I've had it happen before)
Wire to hook up out door unit to power and
a Pad for the outdoor unit

What I am wondering is if i need any thing else such as adaptors for the LG install. In the past I've installed a samsung mini-split so i pretty much know whats up... Only thing is I no longer have my install kit; And don't want to run around for days buying parts after the unit arrives. What am I forgetting...

Also, does any one have links to a torque wrench? Id rather not just guess how much to tighten down the fittings... Ive split em before.

for the $20 bucks difference, i'd go for the 30,000btu
not sure why there's so little difference, i didn't spend a lot of time on the what
differences were

Fwiw, Mitsu's don't need that adapter, their service ports are the industry standard size. You def need it with LG. I needed it when I installed an 9k btu LG for a buddy.

i like mine..been running since '09

splits break down all the time.. so ease of ordering parts is important. mine has 2x since ive owned it..once was a temp thermistor and the other time the whole circuit board needed replacing after a bad storm. parts arrived within a week..

the fredrichs were down for a whopping 6 months b4 parts arrived!!

The one I posted is a quick connect with a 25 foot line set. You won't need all the extra equipment to set it up. I paid $1930 for it shipping included. Yours still needs a line set and shipping cost added.

Just noticed that your supplier has a coupon code spot, so search for one before you buy if you go with that supplier.

vacuum pump and manifold is all you need. if you want the tank of 410 and can get it then go for it. in case you have a leak and spend time troubleshooting it. the LG is a nice unit. my 30k handles 6kw without flinching.

Imho, and from experience, the LG is much more reliable than the Friedrich.
The "big four" in the mini split world are Mitsibishi, Fujitsu (some Fujitsu's use Mitsu compressors)Lg and Daikin. Mitsu being top dog and top warranty.
Also, those quick connect line sets tend to leak...
That being said, their are a few "quick connect" type mini's on the market and if I had no choice but to go quick connect then the Friedrich would be the one.

you can pressure test with nitrogen before you pull the vacuum. 20 yr tech and thats the standard way we check for leaks before we start the vacuum pump. if you dont pressure test first then you run the risk of pulling moisture into the line sets. R410a is SUPER sensitive to moisture. you can get a tank of nitro at a local ac supply house for cheap. just a little tip. use if ya want.

btw if anyone ever has a question regarding ac/refrigeration/ice machines/chillers/heaters etc feel free to ask or pm me

Thanks, Ive done an install on a samsung and decided to skip the nitrogen years past. When i did a reinstall and up-sold the machine my buddy wanted us to do the nitrogen leak test. We did.. Its important to note if you buy a tank of nitrogen then you will also need a nitrogen regulator. This is different from the R-410a regulator.

Thanks ACtech, i may send you a message if i run into any snags.
Oil for the vacuum pump is important. My favorite is black gold. IDK, do other people prefer something else?

Also I would have forgot the adaptor for the manifold... I defiantly had to get one last time.

I can fairly easily get the tank of R-410a from a few different local suppliers. I have a R-410a safety cert. which is free to get, ATM im working on getting a 608 Certification. IDK if ill do the level II, tho which is really whats required to work on a Minisplit.

ACtech, when i did an install years ago i had a product i want to say was called QikFlush or something like that. Can you recommend something similar if this product name doesn't ring a bell?

Ive also got a question about installing a line drier...
