About stripping lower growth

I have a grow going in day 22 of flower. I'm in 5 gallon grow bags and I'm LSTing for the first time, and I'm never gonna quit now! Anyway, I was wondering about stripping lower growth like some of you do. When do I do this? It's too early now I know. Also, what am I stripping? Everything including popcorn bud sites? I'm also wondering if I should even think about stripping anything

While thats totally up to you, I personally take all those smaller ones off, and just let the prime bigger tops, get all of the shine, instead of sharing with popcorn sites,Think about it.

Start pulling the small stuff off now. I've seen different theories about whether to take it all at once or to do part at a time to prevent shock to the plant. I usually take part at once just so I can judge what needs to be taken and what doesn't.

Pulling now will allow the plant to concentrate its energy on the top colas that are getting a good amount of light instead of wasting energy on that little popcorn stuff.

Good growing!

If you are LST'ing you should have minimal lower growth. The purpose in this technique is to get more plant to more light. So be careful what you trim!
In a "normal" vert grow you would trim as the tops prevent intense light from reaching lower branches. With LST you should have less of this.AS more intense light is ckloser to the bulk of the plant.
Light penetrates well to about three feet( I'd say 2.5 feet) so measure what you have now and guestimate its height at harvest.

Light penetration depends on the light source. Fluoros only have a few inches of penetration; HID's have a lot more with more penetration as the wattage increases.

I have to agree with Ambre, start trimming now. I use verticals, and strip all lower bud and leaves on the bottom foot of plants. I also trim off all interior growth of the plant that will not get good light. No use wasting the plant's energy growing new shoots late in veg that will develop small, popcorn buds. Did I mention that I hate trimming and popcorn buds are a pain in the ass and aren't worth the time to trim?

small lower flowers are a drag(even tho i'm smokin em rite now, heheh) but how far into flower would you not prune plants? i try to not cut flowering plants if you don't hafta.

I strip the healthest before I go 12/12(clones) and then the second no later than 1.5 week into flower. Like Pops said the lower stuff is a drag to trim especially if you have to wear glasses to see the small stuff.
