About CO2 enriched solutions

Greetings and love everyone!

These past couple of sessions I've started playing with CO2 with great results. Nothing high tech, simple CO2 tabs dissolved in water, which is then sprayed on plants.

Works wonders during growing & stretching phases, makes the trunk to grow much thicker among other things, allowing for larger nutrient uptake.

I'd like to keep using it for flowering, but spraying budding plants seems unwise, so I guess it will have to go through the roots.

Any insight about CO2 feeding through nutrient solution (in soil!) is welcome. Is it better to give it alone or ok to mix with nutes for instance ?

Well, I've browsed through the internet and looked for studies and research about the subject and it seems there's not much to gain adding CO2 to feeding solution, maybe even more to loose actually. I guess I'll just drop some tabs in the water and let them fizzle out at night in the growtent so as to enrich the atmosphere with CO2.

Sounds like you need a biology lesson. Plants breathe in Carbon Dioxide through the stomata on the underside of the leaves and then exhale oxygen.

Adding CO2 to the solution will simply cause carbonic acid to build up and mess with your Ph.

What ever happened to high school biology? I learned this in 9th grade

Well, I try not to content myself with what I've learned decades ago at school (and even though there were no lessons about cannabis biology), and since not all plants react the same way to CO2 enriched solutions (rice, for intance, can absorb large amounts through the roots) I can't see why it would be rong to ask.
Anyway, I prefer to let once in a while a CO2 tablet to fizzle out in some water, turns the grow into a tropical jungle (the increase in temps is impressive, true greenhouse effect!) and plants love it.
