About 30 plant grow.... Do I need odor control??

I have a basement grow with about one window which I am going to seal off so no odor can get through.....

I was reading the bust on the 300 plant grow... And seeing how the smell tipped off the police..

Do you think I would need to take some kind of odor prevention with 30 plants???

with plants in the house especially, we become accustomed to the fumes and odors, smell what?

Invest in your security and peace of mind.

you prolly won't need it with 30 seedling, but get 10 or 20 plants or dankness growing and oozing resin about harvest time,, - yeah you might wana plan for it now.

yeah I had 3 plants growing in my house and it was rank! As a matter of fact it was mostly 1 plant that stunk then other two were moderately smelly up close and personal. Now this other plant made the whole house smell. As a matter of fact a friend came over one time and asked when I started growing? and that was the second he walked in the house since I live there I was use to the smell. Its called Ol Factory Fatigue its when you have lost the temporary, normal inability to distinguish a particular odor after a prolonged exposure to that airborne compound. Olfactory fatigue is very similar to neural adaptation or sensory adaptation. Our bodies become desensitised to stimuli in order to prevent the over loading of our nervous system, thus allowing it to respond to new stimuli that is ‘out of the ordinary’

Sorry for the technical info but Im high and remembered some of this from some schooling that I have had and found a little info on the net.

This is why if you smoke often in your car or ecspecially in the winter with the heat on and get pulled over police officers can smell it like it was just smoked even if you havent smoked in the car in days. With the heat on in the car and smoking weed...... ummm...(Im forgetful for some reason right now)...............oh yeah.....with the heat running in the car the odor is just baked into the interior of the car. Anyway enough of that. Did'nt mean to hijack your thread I just went off on a rant and couldnt stop, please forgive. Hope the little bit of info was helpful in some way.

Oh I almost forgot. To answer your question, Hell yeah you are going to need odor control. Just remember marijuana odor permiates. Plus it will ease your mind to have it.

That isn't going to do shit.
You need a carbon scrubber. Maybe two.
They're relatively cheap to DIY.
Agreed, 30 plants is a lot of plants, I would be able to smell that coming out a window a mile away

You say you got 30 plants and lets say on the light side you get an oz apiece for them. Now take that from what you would have paid for it from your local source and see what you would have spent and then order a Vaportech and sleep easy knowing the smell of your buds is not what gets ya in trouble. The diy's are great and all but 30 plants is above suspicion when it come to personal if ya know what I mean and at 199.99 and a new disc every 90 days your in man and if you only spend 199.99 on 30 oz of dank bud you got the hookup man and I applaud you.

I've been here to long and seen to many folks go down over the smell of their buds not to SCREAM at the top of my lungs get the odor under control.

If everyone knows you business pretty soon you won't have a business.

Dude, if you really need to ask wether you're going to need odor control on 30 plants, you probably should not be growing 30 plants. But that's just my opinion.

NOKUY, I just finished building my first DIY scrubber. 27" long, 8" outer shell. Dude, I couldn't find panty hose that went the whole length! I had to get them on from one end, then put the other leg on from the other end, and I had to do it twice to dual-layer it.

And I won't even find out if it works (no reason why it shouldn't, though) until it goes into flowering.

same exact size as the one I just made for my vortex 449 cfm.

....I have one w/ 6" outside diam, and 4" core 18" length for my cabinet w/ a 165 cfm squirrell cage fan....works PERFECT.

my 5 gallon pail of carbon I ordered off E-bay should have been here today ...prolly have it tomorrow.....and just in time cuz these 10 bitches are stinky @ 36 days flower:

Hah, my 27 gal pail from EBay came yesterday, and thats why I finished it today

I love that guy!

Yeah, we have the same vortex. The thing with me, though, is I have it dialed ALL the way down, so I am hoping it will work with the dimensions I made. Because the dimensions are for full 449cfm.

I might dial it up a little when I start using the 400W in the cooltube though. Right now it's only cooling a 250W MH in a cooltube. At peak, it will be cooling both a 250W and a 400W from 2 separate cabs

my vortex is dialed way down too...a little less than half speed.

...it's cooling a 600 watt hortilux in a daystar AC hood

...the scrubber will be kept in the room and I'll be pulling the room air thru it before the hood. ....so I may have to adjust the fan speed a bit
