abit of a problem

well 2 days ago i noticed on 2 of my big bud plants in my small 230w cupboard grow had spider mites. this was very worrying because 1 week ago i switched to 12/12 and they look like the buds are just forming, just a few white hairs. i could clearly see the damage from the spidermites, alot of small spots on the leaves and the leaves started to look quite dry because they had sucked so much sap/juice from the leaves. i found this insect killer, it said for use against black fly, green fly and spider mites. i thought this was perfect so i got it and sprayed my plants once, the next day i looked at the plants and the poison must have burnt the leaves, its mainly the new small leaves but i am worried about shock at this stage of flowering. and also the white hairs have turned brown:( what should i do??????

For now, use your shower as a weapon against them. I would not add more mite spray to the damaged plant. While holding the soil from spilling out with 1 hand, turn it upside down and rinse the undersides of the leaves. You can spray the tops of the leaves easily. In the future, I would use safer soap rather than harsh chemicals that might contain petroleum distilates which would easily burn the plant.

I had the same thing happen the other day but I was 35+ days into flower so I surveyed how many plants had them bad and went to the store to pickup some ladybugs. Today it been 3 days since release so I will check for more mites later and probably release another few hundred lady bugs tonight.

Do they end up stoned? and what do you do with them when the mites are gone?
no the lady bugs dont eat the bud, the lady bugs eat the spider mites and there eggs......The lady bugs dies of once all there food source is gone, the mites, not the buds... they dont end up STONED..just a full belly..

I've thought of this sort of treatment (lady bugs) in the past but wondered if they would just wind up being sucked up into the ventilation system. :chin:
Then clog the carbon scrubber??

Just go to the store and get a no-pest strip by hot shot. Doesn't harm the flowers, kills mites, just change more often than directed.

Poision in contact with plants for long periods is a no no!! ThosE ^ strips are the lazy way. sorry they are..Ever heard of cancer or tumors or birth defects? why not just get raid garden spray and spray the plants. Those hot shot strips is like fumigating all the time in low levels.. Neem oil, works every time...and the lady bugs.
