I have been know to frequent quite a few dive bars in my time. I am curious...how did you know to use the hard water formula?

Just guessed. I don't have a td tester yet but I live in a major city so I am Assuming I have hard water. I also have minor stains on my tub around the faucet. Could that be it?

Don't assume anything. You may have calcium carbonate added to the water to prevent pipe corrosion. Stains around the faucet sounds like metals. There are standards for city water so I bet your water might be okay. What is the initial ph of the water before adding anything?

If you are using fluoros then the leaves furthest from the fluoro are receiving a very
very very small amount of light.....you've gotta literally stuff those growing tips right
up against the fluoro for vigorous growth......so, if this is happening to only the fan
leaves which are the oldest and therefore furthest from the light, it could be normal....

Is the pH of your water 6.0 right out of the tap or did you adjust to get that number?

You might want to cut your water with 1/2 spring water then pH to 6.5 and see if
that frees up some of one or more of the nutrients which could be possibly "locked out" at this point in time.....

-kind regards from .......(wheek wheek)

I started bailing out the old nutes and I am adding water as we speek. the rez is way too big like 31 gallons or something. can I just drop the water to 6.5 and leave it in staight water for a day?

you can, thats basically flushign for a day. id suggest you start using RO water - my tap water is unusable due to its high calcium content.

without a better pic I really cant say much about the problem.. need better focus, etc..

wow you guys are fast. thanks for all of the help.

I now have the plants flushing and I dropped the lights to inch above the tops.
I just checked my city's website they do add calcium carbonate although they didn't say how much and they said they hardness is generally between 100 and 150ppm
All I have camera wise is my phone right now :(
where do I go from here?

well it has been a while and they are looking worse more leaf curling now, maybe they were being underfed and should be closer to full strength. I don't know suggestions...
I know I'm looking for a lot of help really fast but they are going down hill really fast

if i had to guess from the pic id say magnesium lockout but i dunno how accurate that really is..

start using RO water. if you had a tds meter I'd say keep them between 300-400, in RO..

if ya cant give us good pics you're gonna have to be more discriptive?

curling how? theres a dozen diff ways they can curl. is it along the edge? is it at the tips? is it up, is it down? is it only where the burns are? are the problems showing up in the same places in all the girls, and spreading the same ways? does it start at the bottom or the top? is there any yellowing or does it go straight into burn?

again, you have to be much more descriptive without decent pics, like your life depends on it, cause the lives of your plants do...

Cannabis uses lots of Magnesium and deficiencies are very common, especially in Acidic environments.....

Leaves develop yellow patches between darker green veins and rusty spots occur on leaf margins and tips.....

(That information was taken from the new Indoor Bible without Jorge Cervantes' permission......I know Jorge doesn't want me re-printing large chunks of his book
because he needs to put food on his table too......so go buy Cervantes' awesome books!!!!)

Ok.....so because your water has always been pH 6.0, a magnesium deficiency is your
problem (i think)......re-adjust pH and let us know whassappening....

Hey lorax

the curling is along the edges of the leaves going upward
the leaf tips are pointing down
they yellow in spots then go brown
starts low and works it's way up.
new growth is fine...top node

I just added the nutes a little over half strength
this seems to be happening to me every weekend
so I'm thinking that I just need to fed once a week
8 plants in 26 gallons of water.
I ordered the tds tester I guess I have too wait for that
I think I'm switching to soil soon...
I'm keeping a vigilant eye out
what do you think?

Thanks Dalton

i think your problem is magnesium lockout caused by too much calcium, caused by hard tap water.

switching to RO water as suggested would fix this

its important to note: i believe your girls are showing mag problems not because it doesnt have enough mag but because it cant access the mag it has due to lockout
