A Widow Help Please ;-)

Alright so my first several grows in soil with decent hybrids went off without a hitch, less my last, having my first fungus gnat invasion.
Now that those bastards are under control, I started from seed, two White Widows from BCBD, and two alleged mango crosses from a friend. The mangos are compact and pungent for only a few weeks of growth, the Widows however are turning out to be finicky. The shot up quick under 400w of MH, but are now exhibiting some issues. They are in a 1/2 MG potting mix, 1/2 perlite/vermiculite blend which is what I have been using with success. The food this go around is BioBizz BioGrow at 15-20ml/gal and Sweet at ~5ml/same gal of nutes.

Widows are in back, mangos up front....

Ah...yes I was just looking at Stich's pics and that sure is what it looks like.
I'll try his advice on the addition of some lime but its unfortunately going to have to wait a day or so. Are Widows going to be this touchy all the way through or should making up for the Ca def stabilize things?

The sweet is adding magnesium so forget the epsom salts...

You should add calcium and magnesium to your ferts if needed. 1/4 teaspoon epsom salts + 1/4 teaspoon powdered gypsum per gallon of water along with the regular ferts. If the regular fert has magnesium, dont add the epsom. Powdered gypsum you can get at good garden centers. Just call around. Hoffman is a brand. You sometimes see it in small 5 pound bags. Epsom salts you can get at the drug store. I add the epsom gypsum combo every third or fourth fert with dol. lime in the soil and everytime if there is none. Be sure to adjust the ph of your fert water after mixing for best results.

OK, Bought the 5lber of gypsum and one of the garden lime. Unfortunately the garden lime is very small pelletized lime which I remember reading is what I dont think I want. I added gypsum to the soil tops and watered it in well. (before I read sproutco's last post) so far no respnse. Utilized the crushed pelletized garden lime in solution @ 1/2 teaspon per quart as a foliar spray, and nada. Problem as of last night seems to be getting much worse for that one in the back right (I'll get another shot up toinite) the tips have progressed and are now greying as is the portion of the leaf between the stem. The sad part is, this plant is starting to show sex as a female. Ugh.

Ph seems off. Directions for testing are in my signature below. You seem to have more than one problem.

My next "move" would be some stump remover. 3/4 teaspoon per gallon of water potassium nitrate. Potassium nitrate is the ingredient in some stump removers at hardware stores. Dexol and green light are two brands but there are others. Just check the label. You did good to find some gypsum...I bet you can find this. You really need this.

Be sure that when you apply the gypsum that epsom salts is included to keep a balance.

Adjust your fert water ph after mixing for best results.

Make sure your regular ferts include all micros...iron, zinc, copper, manganese, boron, and molybdenum.

I'm really concerned that you did not follow directions closely. :badday: Find the stump remover asap. :Bolt:

I have been wondering if the miracle grow soil formula has been changed recently because I have used it in the past with good results, but recently I used it and the plants had the same problem as the ones in your photos. I repotted them in pro-mix with worm castings and they got better. Pro-mix and worm castings work great.

Hansel- I agree MG seems to be not the same, plus, the last couple bags I've purchased (and from various retailers) seem to be bringing fungus gnats. I have been using MG for a long time for ALL my houseplants and garden veggies as well and never had a problem. Think I'll be making the switch to something else next go.

Sproutco- :badday: yes I have made some hasty decisions out of desperation...My patience and your tutelage will pay off I know. I will obtain some stump remover ASAP. As for the balance of the other nutes, I would like to stop using the bio-grow for these and go back to my tried and true Schultz 10-15-10 Plus for veg, (it has given me consistent results in the past) for simplicity and will try adding to it the stump rem in the amts you have perscribed for the affected plants.

Thanks!!!

WOW, I really can't follow instructions. Grabbed some Bonide Stumpout and just looked up the MSDS...Sodium Disulfate! NOT KNO3!! SHIT. Gonna flush today and look for some other brands around. (did make them look slightly better though)
