You say "we are renovating" so I assume you have some sort of family.

Even if you get rid of everything they probably wouldn't know that and still might come. I'd concentrate on beefing up my security.

No question. Remove the plants, and get rid of the lights. Or at least box up the lights and put them in storage. When I was busted by my mom, and she saw nothing. I ripped my plants and I gave her all the lights. I have slowly rebuilt my CFL's light supply back up to original numbers. Since that day, my mom hasn't been in my room, but the other day someone was in there.

I think I left my TV on when I went to try out for the Wheel Of Fortune. No I did not get up on stage. When I came home, I turned on my light, and the light wouldn't come on. I eventually figured out that someone had pulled the chain on the light to turn it off instead of using the wall switch.

Play it safe, and remove the lights. If you are having some remodeling done, your dad amy still be looking for a contractor, and if your plants are in the open, more and more people have the chance to see them and eventually you're going to run across a an utra conservative who's going to get in your way.

I know there are certain risks involved with growing, but I refuse to make myself sink to the depths of paranoia to save a few plants-- I have had an (open) garden in my yard for the last 2 years...dozens of ppl knew...shit, we hang by the plants and blaze!! I have given the cable-guy a tour, and gave him a care-package!! (he had to see them to do what he was doing)...and I have never had a problem--
I am always alert, and ready for someone to try...but I don't stress myself over it--

yukon is right. if this dude blabs about his friend, chances are, he'll blab about you.

back to the stranger issue. if this dude is quick to talk about his friend, he'd probably be even faster to talk about what you're doing. he doesn't give a damn about you so he'll speak more freely about your shit than his friend's grow. it can get to a point where he's blabbing over some drinks or maybe he's caught smokin... cops wanna know who and where... who u think he's gon give up, your or his friend?

if anything, i'd MOVE the grow to a friend's house if possible just to continue it. but, definitely REMOVE IT from it's current location.

the question at this point is how long are you supposed to wait to grow again? it's a chance regardless.

If you live in the US get rid of them. If anywhere else forget it, where I live the police are not going to get a search warrent for 6 plants, they have better things to do.

We had our roof redone this summer, the plants where visible for all the people who came to work on it, didn't have any problems, even had a bowl with one of the workers. Cultivation laws here are quite leniant though, don't know if i would risk that in the states or some other less permissive country. I don't think people tend to call the police very fast, especially not about someone they are working for.
EDIt i wouldn't call myself a hippie, but i do believe a positive attitude and sharing allways come right back at you, teach them to grow, toke a bowl with them and spread the message, this is what the overgrow movement is about and it's these exact moments that will cause our rise or fall.

Well said-- I try not to hide shit from anyone(within reason, of course...I am only referring to friends)...I also have 215 in my corner...so I can be a li'l cocky-- But I have always been like this-- I would rather lose a few plants or $$ to some thief...than to have lost all the other true friends I made by trusting-- 47 years old...and I have been burned a few times...but by far have had a better life because of it--
