Wow this will be one hell of a grow! I think you should easily get 2# per light? I love stadium grows. I might convert after this grow. Good luck and thanks fir sharing.
this is awesome! I may attempt something similar to this using 4" pvc fence posts. Only problem i would can see is, my tent supporting all that weight. 6 fence posts, and 3 lights + fans and a filter? IDK, that might be pushing it.
I'm around - and will have an update tomorrow night.
Clones going into the system tomorrow night! We'll call it Day 0 veg as they'll be going in late. First round will be vegged in the bloom room - all future runs will be in a smaller stadium (5ft -3 tiers) with 1K veg light.
Unfortunately I'm having a hell of a time getting a hold of the fan I want to use (MAX 14"). My local shop is giving me it for practically cost, but its been a lengthy wait for it.
I sold the 12" MAX that I already had for the room unexpectedly. I had the opportunity to sell it and jumped on it as I think the MAX 12" is too loud while the MAX 14" is extremely quiet. I dont know how I'm going to fire this system up tomorrow without it. , but clones are being given to me tomorrow and they are aero rooted so they have to go in the system. I guess we'll have to see how hot it gets and go from there.
PS - this stadium will be mediumless as well. No stones - just 3.75" Neoprene insert in a 3.75" netpot.
Clones went into the system today and I turned on 1K MH to give them some light until I can get the exhaust fan and turn the others on.
I've got my fingers crossed that these clones take. They are aeroponically rooted and not as strong as the root riot clones I'm used to. Its odd that aero clones can have a lot of roots, but only a few fragile main roots coming off of the stem. Its got me worried.
Also, I did not have enough of one strain to load the entire stadium so I'll be running 1 strain on 1 half and another on the other half. Hopefully they grow near the same pace otherwise I might have half a stadium ready to flip while the other half is still not quite there.
But..for better or worse - I'm going to document this 1st run.
Going great considering I put them in the system and hadnt returned since. (works itself really - have a buddy checking EC and pH (drops) to let me know if anything seems off.
No idea how much water the system holds - just adding well disolved powdered maxibloom - let circulate - and re-test as we work our way up to our target EC. Have been at .6 EC - bumped to .9 EC today. Really its just been adding a tad more maxibloom everytime pH starts to climb into yellowish green. lol, should get a pH meter over here, but almost want to keep with the drops to demonstrate simple hydroponics at its finest. No measuring here.
moving water, maxibloom, and drops - easy peezy
Fan should be here in a few days to allow use of all 4 lights. Right now I've just been running the 1K MH, but just switched to a single 1K HPS instead because the MH seems to be pulsing. Might just switch out the MH ballast for another 1K HPS.
No idea on temps anywhere (that'll soon change with 4k), but reservoir temp seems a hair warm. Chiller might have to make its way into this (use what I have budget)..and a chiller I dont have.
Few plants have slight curling up of their edges. Anyone know what it might be. My guess was heat stress since its only really effecting the plants nearest the only bulb on, but it doesnt really feel very hot and the 1K seems to be far enough away. Any ideas?
Net pots are just there to hold the 3.75" neoprene in place and gives the plant's main taproot a place to anchor out of. Without the net pot the plant loses its stability just in the insert alone.
Hopefully I can keep reusing the neoprene because they are costly. If they get all stretched out and unusable I'll have to make custom ones out of pool noodle or something.
I dont mind having to buy net cups every time if they get destroyed because they dont cost much.
My reason of going mediumless is more to get away from the labor of the medium rather then the cost.
Finally got the MAX 14" and put it in tonight (pictures don't show - took pics 1st).
The MAX 14" can barely be heard and moves a ton of air - well worth the dough!
Really don't know where to send the 14" however - for now just sending it to another room of the basement. Hoping to let the heat accumulate there letting it heat the house above while using small in-line fans to exhaust that space into various existing register ducts which lead upstairs. How does one get 14" out of a basement discreetly (windows are sealed glass block)? Come'on winter.
Everything you see below has been with only 1K - 2K on. Have not had fan to fire up the full 4K yet. Pics show a light missing. Was a 1K MH there that was "pulsing" - then another 1K HPS stopped working. Put a Phantom 1K HPS in place of the MH, and need a capacitor for the other 1K thats out.
Pics show some snapping of the tops to promote bushing. Trying to be as uniform as possible, but its been difficult without having all 4K burning.
I'm siked right now. I'm trying my hardest to like blumats in my other grows, but this method is SO clean and labor free I may have to return to hydro 100%. No medium is definitely where its at.
7 days growth - neoprene's are sexy!
It feels so good to be back doing the hydro thing. I dont know why I've been hauling in bags of coco, breaking my back transplanting, etc. fuck. I've got a lot of blumats and have been loving them for the most part, but still having to haul in coco, do laborious tasks such as transplanting can really wear on one over time. This stadium is going to change my life.
to mediumless.
JonJaffer! I owe ya one!
Hope your loving life somewhere!
