Hello all, I am a new grower of auto's, and i owe my new found area of success to an introduction to Afterthought Autos. I have been a skeptic of auto flower plants for a while now, but I had never tried to grow out any. The folks at Afterthought had read many of my post on my needs and the progress i was having toward attaining my goals. So, when I contacted them about my interest, they decided to send me some seed, as a tester for their product. I agreed, and the seed were sent, and received, planted and allowed to grow for the 65 days at it's own pace , under a 350 watt magenta LED, and 200 watt CFL ( comparable to a 500 watt MH.). The plants grew at a steady pace, showing sex at three weeks, and beginning to bud at four weeks! no plant food or nutrients, just plain filtered water, ph of 6.0 . I grew this run in COCO and they seemed to love it! The added security of less risk of over watering, made coco an easy choice. the coco I used is called COCO JO"S- from Humboldt, California. i was so impressed by the speed of transition, that i allowed one of them to be pollinated by a male that showed in the fourth week. i definately wanted some more of this seed, if for nothing else to be able to replant this strain and see if I could cross it around with some big production strains like Money Maker, and White Widow. I plant to cross the azure rocket with the money maker and see how that turns out first. Next grow...
The plants are finishing out right at 20", and have not been topped or manicured in any way. At the end of every arm is a nice fat cola, and several little ones down the stem to the trunk of the plant. The smell of the flowers is a very rich pine-ish skunky aroma, that fills your senses with anticipation, and makes your mouth water as soon as the closet is opened! i am finding it very difficult to wait for the plant to run full life cycle- to insure the seeds will be fully mature. I am going to running these girls from now on! I will of course continue to experiment with other strains, for out door growing, and the larger production strains, but I will always have a shelf of these girls going for the interim terms of harvest and supply..
Some picture are available in my albums under the Attempting to go LED.. I will take some final pics and post them in the next couple of weeks sometime..
I would summarize my experience with the Afterthought Auto line, as refreshingly pleasant. I had a couple of questions along the way, and Airbud was a great help in my learning about the organization of Afterthought, and the growing habits of the strains I was working with. I am pleased with the results, and would be glad to recommend Afterthought Auto strains to anyone. i surely intend to have a rotation of them at all times, hence forth ..
Sincerely, Lj.mike
