ALPINE, CALIFORNIA (CBS 8) - A raid on an East County home takes out an alleged ecstasy and hash oil extraction lab.

DEA officials confirm a man and a woman who were living in the house on the 400 block of Summerhill Terrace in Alpine were arrested.

"With the explosive nature, when you get the butane for the hash oil extraction and all the chemicals involved in making ecstasy... It is extremely dangerous," DEA spokeswoman Amy Roderick said.

The DEA says dangerous chemicals used to manufacture the drugs were also found.

And while few ecstasy operations have been shut down in San Diego County over the past year, this was one of a growing number of alleged (hash oil) labs they've seen in our area.

"They are becoming very common -- we see the hash oil labs in approximately 75 percent of the indoor marijuana grow operations right now," Roderick said.

Hazmat crews were also called in to dispose of any dangerous chemicals found in the home.

East county.....not surprised one bit. That place is soo Breaking Bad. Some Bikers, reservation injuns, Tons of STUPID bored teenagers and Messykoh just a hike away. The perfect storm, and a snitch factory if I've ever seen. My homegirl got snagged out there , taking in strays burned her good. Lesson learned, if your growing you are doing good karma, you don't need to lift lifes "leaners".
