A question about flushing

Hi all, I'm new to icmag and I'm not 100% sure this is the forum for this type of question but I was wondering... What is the least amount of time you can flush for without having harsh tasting bud because I'm chopping down my Chocolate Chunks in a couple of days and it will have been 8 days since I fed them. Is this too short a flush period? And if it is does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do because they will be ripe in a few days and I'll have no choice but to chop them down. Soil you wanna go a couple of weeks 14 days plus . Hydro as little as 10 days, youll be fine. I hope your harvest will be just sweet buds.

Thanks grundig, So I guess now I have to choose between harvesting when they are ripe but not fully flushed or harvesting when they are fully flushed but overripe. What would you do? Thanks

oh wow, I thought it was more like a week, now I may need to extend this grow a bit!

K I have a new idea. Do you reckon if I water my plants with a litre of water 3 times a day it'll speed things up? I think it should help because it'll rince out the nutes but I'm a nube.

over water during the end you risk bud mold. I give 3 feedings during active development with hyrdo then when i flush only once a day is good they dont drink much at the end.

If you're really that concerned about it, water cure them. It leeches out ferts, chlorophyll, all kinda nasties that make smoke harsh. Kills your bud's taste and aroma, but it can't be beat for smooth smoke.

Water Curing - Take your buds, and put them in a cooler covered by an inch of water. Use something to hold them down, I use thin wire fry baskets. Store, with top open!, in a place without direct sunlight, I use my closet.

Replace water once a day. After 7 days, remove and dry.

Once again, it'll destroy the aroma and flavor, but does wonders for taste and potency. Doesn't help bag appeal either.

Just to clarify, this is post harvest.

OG, flush now. It's quite possible that your plant will push out more white pistols and delay the ripeing process a few days. Flushing gets rid of all the salts and leftover ferts in the soil, this causes the plant to use up all the food it has stored up, therefore removing the ferts in the taste and burn.

Well I dont want to destroy the flavour as as I don't really get that stoned anymore the taste is the main pleasure I get from toking so I don't think water curing is for me thanks anyway. Smokey last time I fed them was monday and it seems to me like they'll be mature before tuesday so I think I'm gonna have to leave the pistils to start degrading in thc content so I can enjoy some well flushed nice tasting smoke.
