This will be my 2nd serious grow and I'm still learning. I have a new setup which is untested too. This grow consists of 2 Blueberry, 2 G13 Haze, and 2 Lemon Skunk, all feminized.

I'm growing SCROG style, under a 400w HPS and two sets of 40w Daylight flouros.

All seeds were all put directly into pre-moistened jiffy pellets on 12/13/08. The two Blueberry(DP) plants were up first on 12/18 & 12/19. Both Lemon Skunk(GHS) & G13 Haze(Barney's) plants came up on the 25th; LS1 grew inverted and needed repositioning. All plants kept under a 42w Daylight CFL until they were transplanted, at which point they went under the HPS. The BBs went into 1/2gal containers of Moonshine Mix on 12/23(4-5 days after showing). All the others were put in the same 1/2gal setup on 12/30, at various sizes & maturities. The BBs were put in 2 gallons of MSM 01/08/09.

They all endured several days of sub-20% humidity under the HPS until I got a humidifier(although they were misted several times a day).

They've been getting water approximately once a week(I go by weight). They have experienced PH fluctuation, because my first meter broke, and until 01/06/09 I was using my bubbled tap water, which, unless corrected, starts around 6.8 and rises to 7.8 as it is bubbled and warmed to 78F. I have since corrected but many of the current problems probably stem from this issue. I'm sure the plants didn't like the sudden drop when I correct either.

MISC. INFO:

What is the canopy temperature? 76-80F

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 24H light cycle; there is little to no change.

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? There are two 24v computer fans for intake, and 6" exhaust port with two inline 6" duct fans for exhaust. Only 1 intake fan is currently in use.

Is the fan blowing directly at plants? No. Air movement is currently adequate as is with the intake & humidifier.

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? No.

Is your water HARD or SOFT? Our tap water is hard.

Are you using water from a water softener? No

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No

Are plant's infected with pest's? No

I'm trying to upload the pics right now.

yeah you're right. and thank you. i don't actually have a facebook profile though, that page was the result of my not being able to figure out how to post the pics here in the thread. further evidence of my idiocy. if anyone can tell me why i might not be able to post pics in this thread or my album, i'd appreciate that. i didn't think there was a count limit on pics, but i'm ignorant.

from my experience when the leaves tips are down-pointing is is possible to be over watered aver long periods of time. cannabis as a plant also needs some breaks between waterings. your soil looks very moist. not sure if this is your problem but is recommended to never water them before the soil almost dries out. good luck!

thank you for the thought. the photos were taken shortly after a misting. i have the specific dry weights of each container and i simply compare those with current data to figure out when the soil is dry. when they are 90% dry or better, i watch them closely for signs of thirst. when they ask, they are given a drink (and a very specific amount even then). i don't dismiss your theory entirely though. the MSM is a very hot mix, and even slightly too much water could burn young plants.

to my eyes, these problems seem associated with some sort of deficiency though.

any other thoughts?

Whats your soil ph runoff? In fact both.....going in AND coming out? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with "Moonshine Mix" so can't comment on that soil one way or another.

How is your drainage? What is your room humidity? And stop misting things on your plants. Seriously I think it's adding to your problem rather than fixing it.. I water two to three times a week (lots of drainage!!) but don't mist my plants at all.

Off the very top of my head (that means I'm GUESSING) they look hungry with the chewed bottom leaves. The twisted ones are surely a result of the ph jumping around at 7.8. New growth there should return to normal (kiind of slowly) if your other issues are solved.

However with all your misting of the leaves vs watering the roots I think may be part of your issue as well. Plants are basically designed to be watered at ground level in nature not through the leaves and stomata. Roots function at their best when slightly wet vs waiting until the plant shows symptoms of being too dry. That's playing too much defense for me and a time waster while you water and wait for the plant to recover. Check the ph of the water going AND the water coming out the bottom. If you flushed these plants with your ph issue you may have washed out all the nutes. More info, more info.........all these are just guesses but they are designed to get you started.

One last thought......have no idea if it applies to you. If your roots get too cold your plants will show some FUNKY symptoms as cold temps will do a number on roots.....especially new forming ones. Make sure your soil doesn't get too cold at night.

Good luck.
