A Police Officer’s Job

A Police Officer’s Job

The results of the inquest into the fatal shooting of Trevon Cole in Las Vegas were unsurprising.

A Clark County coroner’s inquest jury took 90 minutes Saturday to rule the fatal police shooting of an unarmed man justified, capping two days of pointed questioning and contradictory evidence in one of the more controversial officer-involved shootings in recent history.

Remember, this was the case where a warrant based on details of the wrong Trevon Cole, to search for a small amount of marijuana, ending up with Cole being shot to death while unarmed on his knees in the bathroom. The officer, Yant, has been involved in other controversial shootings. And all the evidence clearly pointed to a non-resisting suspect.

Yet, an inquest in these cases rarely finds wrong-doing by the officer. Most outside observers saw this process as a farce that needed to be completed so that the lawsuit could go forward.

Detective Yant on shooting Cole…

“Unfortunately he made an aggressive act toward me. He made me do my job,” Yant testified.

Ah, so that’s a police officer’s job.

A police officers "job" is to lie, cheat, and steal. I don't know where the protect and serve shit came from. There is no one as dishonest as any cop. They are all bullies with no balls.

They always have to protect their own since it reflects as a whole, even if it requires covering up a wrongful death. This includes hospitals, military, etc.

Be careful people in truly understanding the world. Actually opening your eyes reminds you why people do what they do.

Their job is to instill as much fear into the citizens as they can. They do not give a fuck about your rights and will use force if you so much as look at them wrong.

This is really fucking sad, I remember the story. the guy had like an oz or less, they kicked in his door and shot him the bathroom?
Hopefully people will start waking up, and realize that we are living in a police state.

i think we should do less policing of each other and more patrolling who's comin in and out of this country,,terrorists and whatnot are a bit more of a threat than a guy with a small amount of marijuana,,,but i hate the whole system of policing who gives anyone permission to be hall monitor,,,i believe in laws for sure but there has to be a limit,,,i feel what u do on ur land as long as not harming others in or around u should be ur business,,,but i feel 50% of cops were either bullys and the other 50%were the guys that got picked on now they team up to pick on people together lol,,,peace
what a tragic event for him and his family,,,

a police officer will do anything to keep his mother from going to jail, whether its crooked or not. but yet another police officer will turn his mother in..no matter what.

Did you see that investigation into the New Orleans police Dept? It was a well-known and well-practiced act to carry around a "Ham Sandwich" which was a clean gun in a zip lock bag to plant if necessary.

I have a ham sandwich for all those thugs that claim to be police. I hate to say it but it's like most every other unionized work force. The have way too many people doing nothing but keeping losers in the union for those dues. The more lazy workers they safer the jobs are for everyone (Except the tax payers).

Policemen aren’t any different than you or I they just work for a giant union. No one joins the police force thinking “I cant wait to sit on my ass and take bribes” they are taught how to by their union.

What other work force but a union one promotes people based on seniority and not ability. NONE is the answer.
What other work force pays the broom pusher the same as the Maintenance guy just because they have both been there for 10 yrs NONE.

How are you motivated to move up, educate yourself, and work harder to get to a better job if everyone makes the same amount? The answer is your NOT.

Sounds a bit like communism to me. Why do you think that in old communist Russia the farmers used to put the fertilizer in a big pile and burn it? Because they got paid the same whether the crops yielded well or not.

And how is that different from receiving a state check for not producing nothing and abandon the agriculture to favour the USA\Russia exportations to Europe? Lets be honest here communist can be a good alternative if the people control the production mechanism in a equality faction, the papers and news are kept independent and free, and the other political views are not restrained...

As far for the cops i see they are the same there as they are in here, in recent years due to the more exposure TV and internet gives, we have state polices that traffic cocaine, rape and kill youngsters, tied up with government corruption, paedophiles are investigated for 8 years untill a trial is finally over, and this included ex-ambassadors, TV stars, and the police was divided in the ones that tried to find the evidence and the ones trying to bury the truth... 4 months ago a rapper was killed in a shooting with the police, guess what the guy had no gun only the cell phone and no drugs whatsoever, the cop was let go the same night and the internal affairs feel there is no cause for a investigation since the "suspect" ran away from the cops...

Its the same all over people with unhappy existence and no serious purpose in life take advantage of the power society gave them to protect others and turn it into a kind of abuse right towards the fellow man... it really makes me sick.

My thoughts are with this family this day.
