A new operation inside a storage shed in the backyard

It was either the attic or the backyard storage building to setup a new grow so I choose the storage shed. I'll post some pics of my proposed setup for some ideas.

My main concern with this grow is sound (neighbors) & smell (neighbors). My design calls for mounting the AC Unit inside the grow room compartment but have its own exhaust area. I plan on using 3 carbon scubbers - 1 for the veg cab - 1 for the flower cab - and 1 for the room itself.

I plan on soundproofing and insulating as much of the inside of the chamber as I can.

What am I missing here? Seeds. Oh ya :) Ready to get those growing.

Please give me some tips before I begin. Anything I should do differently?

Based on your location you should be able to get away with this if no one lives too close.

You'll want insulated walls and a very good heater for the colder months, but I'm sure your well aware of that.

Maybe underground plumbing directly to the the inside of the shed so you dont have to trasnport and look suspicious carrying tons of water to and from the shed.

Start your seeds today! Super great Moon Phase for planting and cloning!

Glad to see you are doing better since you got your Magic Legs, Lt. Dan. That MJ should help with your PTSD! :D

A/C is over kill for that set up Lt .It will be the loudest thing in the shed and the least needed .Max summer temps 85 or so??If you flower @ night even if you are where the sun never sets you could cool that with fans much quieter.400 watts isnt enough light to justify co2 use .
You could even up yer wattage to 600 and cool it with couple 6 inch votecs one for cooling light and one on carbon filter exhausting hot air from room

Max temps around here in summer are 105-110 with average temps in the 90's. I would love to be able to do without the a/c but I think it's required. Hopefully my insulation work will help with the sound of the a/c. I was planning on getting a small window unit since my area is small so hopefully the sound won't be too loud.

My plan on soundproofing is using insulation and then foamboard.

I have a 5000btu AC inside my cab. I can barely hear it run while I am at my desk in the garage 8ft from it. No more noise than a inline fan.

You need an AC for that little furnace, no doubt about it.
Your setup looks fine to me, but you could think about doing it up right in there, and forget about the boxes. You are robbing yourself of precious space.

If you do use the boxes, make sure you have the airflow inside of them proper,(correct sized intakes, sufficient cfm exhaust, etc) or your AC is going to be a waste. If the boxes are squared away proper, then the air from the AC room will work fine to feed the boxes.

Good Luck!

edit:
Also...you may want to try and find a manual control AC unit. Usually only the very smallest cheapos are like that, but they are far more reliable than any digital controlled unit.
One momentary loss of electric will cause a digital control to loose where it was and it will default to the off position. While a manual control unit will simply start running again when the power kicks back on.
A small unit is plenty enough for your grow area.

The boxes are actually tents. I've got a couple of the secret jardin tents. I wanted to use them inside the room just to have more control with lights, ventilation, and smell. I've used them inside a closet before but the area I'm planning on using is smaller than the closet.

I'm thinking that with a good amount of insulation the noise will be minimal. I guess I'll know soon enough.

Got news from the accountant today that my tax bill is going to be way less so I've got some money to spend. I'm going to have a large 15' X 30' storage building built in the back and split it down the middle. Half will be for storage and half for my garden :) Gotta make new plans now for the setup.
