Grandma's isn't blackstrap... the difference is that blackstrap has a little less sugar and a whole lot more in the way of iron and other minerals in it.

If you really can't find blackstrap, I think Grandma's would be better than no molasses at all.

yea it works fine for a substitute. i usually go to the feed store but i ran out lil while back adn was too lazy to get more. last batch i used some extracted fruit sugar or something i cant even remember, works fine still. ill get some pics of the tea i made a little later on.

you can go to a health food store and get Tree of Life. it has more carbs, mg and iron. With a little less sugar. It works good also. the feed store is about the best place as far as price X quanity.

Try a health food store or a vitamin store.
I couldn't find any in regular stores either, I buy mine from the health food store now.

Just ensure you buy unsulphered molassas. The blackstrap at the feed store is really cheap though.

There is alot of Blackstrap Molasses out there but not in the grocery stores.

Blackstrap is a potassium blast, a 612mg type blast and some iron I think, everything else in in trace amounts.

$9-$10 bucks a gallon

1-2 Tablespoons per gallon

I have 3LBS whole molasses regime if any body wants it just holler

Kroger's has little bottles (355ml) of "Brer Rabbit" brand molasses in several kinds, including "blackstrap" for less than $3.
