A little question on watering methods?

Well, i'm just wondering... How many of you water lightly "when needed" and how many of you water until you see "run off".

Doing some google searches i'm finding a big debate issue. I've just recovered about 18 girls from over watering in the last week. In my experience the transplant into a dry/ loose medium always brings the best way to recover.

Yesterday was my first time watering (only a 1/4 of a liter)which is pretty light in a 3 gal smart pot and 2 week old plants. Most of them had explosive new growth and now a couple are wilting already.

I'm assuming the ones that are wilting just didn't completely recover. So I dug out a little of the top layer of soil and added 3 hoses into the top inch of soil around the roots that are leading to an air pump to get more oxygen into the root ball.

This is something I have never tried but just happened to think of while I was doctoring the issue. It couldn't hurt and ill let you know how it works out.

Anyway, seems I am having more problems with over watering
In the the last couple of years than i've ever had in my 15 years of growing lol. One thing I have noticed that I am doing differently lately is watering more often with smaller amounts of water.

Used too i'd water till runoff every time and I always knew when to water by letting the plant actually wilt just a little. I think I am going to go back to my old method next time around, but I have seen some amazing growers grow huge plants with faster growth doing the "little at a time" method.

In your opinion which works better, which is proven to work better, the pros/cons and dos and dont's of each method?

:tiphat:
