A little help with CA caregiver laws

OK in short...I'm wondering if at this present time does having a felony conviction(non federal) in a state other than CA for growing MJ disqualify you from being a caregiver, dispensary owner/worker, or any other position in the legal MJ industry?

I would like to hear from those who KNOW..I have done some searching and cant find all the info I'm looking for.

the "legal" marijuana "industry" is based on non profit associations. literally, if you are a member, ie, get pot from, a dispensary, you have the right to grow for that dispensary. otherwise dispensaries would not have product, its all member grown! if your a member, grow. you cant legally sell pot in california. but you can sell your time, and effort associated with growing it. you dont need to be a caregiver, infact you probably dont want to be because that title assumes much more responsibility then you want to deal with. ie actual care of a person. you dont grow for people here, you grow for clubs. clubs have 100s of members therefore you can grow for 100s of people. your growing for a club, for all its members, not certain ones. you dont even need your state card. and dr's dont check your record. dont sweat it and just do it. i dont think there is even a check when you get your state card. i dont have a federal record so i dont know, but i do have some "issues" out of state, and the cops/ dept of human services (they give out pot cards) here havent noticed, and ive talked to both, had my shit run by the cops, and the dept of hs did whatever checks it does, and im a happy card holder.

Capt... thanks for your reply. Its informative. Ya see my situation is I have a record for growing. And I am one of those organic growers that care about what I or someone else for that matter is smoking. I pay attention to flushing, drying, and curing to make the best bud I can. So although its the green rush out in CA and I'm by no means attempting to make 1/4mil a yr. I am considering the possibility of doing it as supplemental income.

Now of course my dreams would be opening a dispensary and providing people with real quality smoke. But I know its not that easy. So being that I really enjoy the hobby of growing and think that plants in general are beautiful I would not mind going to work for a grower that already has his shit in order. I wouldnt mind being a trimmer until someone sees that my skills are worthy. Hence my question. Here in NJ they are making it where no one with a criminal background can have there hands in the industry. I cant have that..I have the bud bug in me and need to do something with my skills. So if that means working for someone, fine. Any clue what someone would make doing that? I know most trimmers get paid in meds, but what about an Assistant Grower?

why wouldnt you just grow your bud and sell it (i mean donate it) to your local dispensary? you dont need anything but a dr's rec to grow 6 mature plants. (and that law has been deemed unconstitutional in calis supreme court a few months back. which means any patient with a dr's recommendation can grow as many plants as that patient sees fit. as long as federal agents arnt involved. but if you stay under 99 plants, they wont be!.
you can only have so much weed at one time, depending on county, so you actually have to get rid of the excess.

just be a customer the first couple times to your dispensary, then just mention you grow some of your own, youll probably have extra, and ask if they might be interested. they will probably say yes if they think your cool to deal with.
