A Legend Goes Down

Hey all:

I lost a very dear friend tonight. :petting:

F.T.C. (Fred the Cat)

Born October 1992
Died August 27, 2005

He died in my arms my friends. The old heart and lungs just got too weak to do a proper job. He sure was brave.

So I ask of you all, please tonight, light up a nice one. Hug your pet.

Lots of tears in Harmonix Land tonight.....

Be safe.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo my brother. FTC is more than just an animal, as I'm sure you know. Feel confident in the bond that exists between the two of you, knowing that death cannot break it. This is not 'goodbye', just 'see you later.'

My prayers are with your saddened heart.

Hang in there.

I have done that several times. It never is easy. Thoughts are with you.

I am sorry for your loss

I am sorry for your loss

I just recently lost a 15 year old friend by unexpected means. It's hard when your friend is gone, the void is very large. THe tears will be intense and uncontrollable for awhile but it does subside over time. I keep remembering the fun times we had. Sometimes, I think I can see and hear him. Maybe my mind playing tricks with me but I like to think he is keeping an eye on me. I know I will see him again and FTC is waiting to unite with you again. I miss my buddy everyday but I know he is with me. Hang in there.

My buddy

Harmonix-

My thoughts are with you - I have lost four cats in the last year (diabetes/kidney failure, lukemia-not feluke, lymphoma cancer, and bladder cancer). It's so hard to say goodbye to a friend who has been with you for so long.

I will say that the old story about cats having 9 lives may not be entirely myth. I have a cat (my favorite friend and soul mate) who is with me for the third time. I originally had him back in the 70's, he came back to me the second time about 2 years later, and the third time a few years ago. Each time, I've known him as soon as I saw him again, even though he has looked completely different each time. He's a shoulder cat and has a unique way of laying down and straddling my shoulders which has been the same each time he's been with me. He's very rowdy and tends to be the dominant cat no matter how many I have (and I have about 30 at the moment). I never believed in reincarnation until this cat taught me differently.

My Mom's favorite cat has also come back to her a couple of times. Again, the cat has a rather unique personality and the personality is the same each time.

Give him time to rest and re-generate his energies; when he's ready, he'll come back if you want him to.

Be at peace...

I am so sorry!

I am so sorry!

Fred is at the Rainbow Bridge, he is out of his pain, the Cat lady is right, you will see him again. I waited too long to take my big boy to the vet to have him taken out of his pain, when I could not get pain meds down him, I blew smoke meds in his nostrils, he passed away quitely next to me, he was 11 years old, dog years..?? heart and lungs also gave out, just plain old age. It is a void that will take a while to go away. I haven't been able to get another pet yet, but I feel he will come back to me. Keep smokin' to keep your stress and sadness down.

Harmonix, our heart and prayers go out to you and yours. From the post, I take it Fred had a lifelong friend in you. this is something to be happy about as so many animals are abused or used for entertainment in this sick world.

Cats in general have so much personality, i feel your loss as we lost a cat (14yrs old :yoinks: ) in the late eighties.. this cat was human to us as i'm sure FTC was to you.

Mourning you loss

Peace and be well

cj

ps- any plans for a new addition to the family anytime soon?
My parents lost a dog of 12 years, 2 years ago and just recently pent up enough will to start looking again...

You Folks are the Best

You Folks are the Best

I wake up this morning to find all this love.

God's blessings to all of you within this community.

Still hurtin here.

I also have 3 wonderful dogs and they too are missing a piece of their pack today and are showing it.

That cat crossed all boundaries. Even the biggest cat haters liked FtC.

Not even my most potent Bottle Rocket seems to bring on a smile, albeit thank god for such comforting genetics during times of loss.

I ask again today, Hug your pet. Remember them as puppies / kittens, / etc and appreciate them now at their current stage of life. Remember to let them know how great the ride you share with them means to you.

Off to hit the thick glass. Let the healing begin...

Again, my thanks everyone for the kind words. It really has helped.

Fred was obviously more than 'just a cat'.

so sorry :badday:

being with him at the end is important. he knows he was loved.

i fear the same fate for our two old cats is near.

be strong.

My kitties are like kids to me...and most who know me agree, they are very
special to me, can't imagine losing one of my two knuckleheads, but it will
come to be one day and makes me sad just thinking of it. I used to have
3 cats and lost one to an unfortunate accident 2 years ago, seems like
just yesterday....I am truly sorry for your loss, I can relate to it, and know
how much it hurts inside. Cats are very special pets, just as dog's are unique
in their dog ways. I believe cats really do have 9 lives, maybe more than 9....dogs
too, and hope you are reunited with TFC through the acquisition of another kitty.

I believe 100% as was posted by ambre.........

I am very very sorry to hear of your loss, but maybe try and see it as a division
of time....and that FTC came to the end of one road and is just mapping out his new
journey on an alternate route. I'm waiting to be re-united with my 'Tigger', he'll be back someday.

Keep strong and remember all the good times. Thank you for being a caring loving
person to your pet.
