A clue about the origin of Hops Latent Viroid infections

I have seen plants just like this in my own outdoor breeding projects:

Earlier this summer for example, I had about 30 females in one group where there were about 10-15 females that looked just like this. I've been growing for many years and know for sure the plants were properly fertilized. They were in exactly the same basic, reliable, fresh soil mix which I always use; the soil wasn't the problem. They otherwise finished OK, but as I saw it were just ugly plants, so they didn't get picked for the next generation.

Now I'm looking at these pictures and thinking it may very well have been a viroid infection.

Here is the interesting part: I live as an absolute recluse in a very rural US state. I don't trade clones, seeds, or interact with anyone at all; I keep completely to myself, and have done so for many years now. I know for sure there is no other weed or hops being grown for miles around. There simply is no way for this viroid to get into my garden in any of the usual ways.

The last introduction of genetics in my garden was a seed purchase in 2019, and those aren't the plants affected here; that line is fine. These affected genetics go back 15+ years of isolation and have never shown these sort of problems before. This is a new thing for me.

My conclusion is and has to be: this disease is being airdropped from the sky.

Just putting this here for the benefit of any clued in people (aka 'conspiracy theorists') who may be studying unexplained phenomena. Amazing how ths viroid, despite supposedly being known about for decades, only just now became a problem the past few years and is suddenly everywhere all at once. Just like the garlic mustard for example, which I first saw a few years back and is now everywhere.

Or your watering /feeding cycle isn't the best

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the problem (among others) with the viroid that it can cause issues which look like other deficiences or pests ?
So why are you so sure it was HLV ? Another reason sounds way more plausible to me (a reason which doesn't include airdropping HLV over rural US ;))

But maybe you are right :
