Can an a/c unit be installed in a grow room and the vent tube attached to a carbon filter? I dont think it would have enough push to get through the filter.... any advice?
I would suggest you build a plywood box to neatly fit all but the face of the ac unit and at the rear of the box fit a 6" duct fitting and scrub your air there. You may require an inline duct fan to assist airflow through scrubber.Somewhere on the growers forum there is a DIY A C box thread.
if you use a window type AC then you dont have to worry about smell escaping through the back, the hot air comming from the back is just from the AC's motor and coils. they do not exhaust ANY air out the back, they recycle the room air. some models have a little switch so you can exhaust/intake fresh air from outside. make sure its CLOSED.
if you use a Portable AC with 1 or 2 exhaust vents then you have to worry about the smell escaping. less smell escapes with a 2 vent portable AC than a with a 1 vent. maybe stick some fabric softeners in the ducting or an ozone generator to mask the smell.
senseless is on point, the AC cabinet is split into 2 compartments. If you plan on having it inside the home instead of through wall or window mounted you will have problems to overcome. 2 hose portables I am not familiar with so I will pass that back to you senseless.
