A/C Help Needed Badly!!!

I have a 24,000 btu Mr. Slim A/C heat pump system that is not working correctly. It was installed 3 weeks ago and worked great until last monday when it got warmer here. It stopped cooling that day and I had the installer come out and he took some freon out of the system. It worked for about half a day and stopped cooling again. Now there is a humming chatter type sound coming from the compressor when it is trying to cool. This is in a 19x11 room with 8k air cooled with 2 800cfm fans. I can keep temps below 90 when I turn 1 or 2 lights off but I needed to flip last week and don't want to until this is resolved. Any thoughts? Thanks

Whoa, why did he take freon out of the system? They come pre charged with the correct amount for 25' of line set. The sound you describe is indicative of low freon. Had an Amcor that made that same sound, checked the connections with a sniffer and found a leak. Fixed leak, emptied out all the remaining freon and weighed in the appropriate amount for a 25' line set. No more chatter. Until the outdoor PC board fried itself, but thats another story...
