9 out of 12 seedlings dead.. what a complete and total screw up

I germed 12 seeds using the paper towel method, transplanted to Miracle Gro with moisture control because it had worked wonderfully twice in the past. Well, guess what? They dried and got stuck :cuss: :dueling: :bashhead: :spank: :violin: :muahaha: :lurk:  :pointlaug :beat-dead :jump: :bashhead:

I didn't realize the importance of keeping them moist and humid, all i had was a small bowl of water next to them and i only watered them very lightly after I transplanted them from the paper towels, they had popped from the ground just yesterday and seemed fine, then I wake up this morning and they look stuck and stunted... nice work, I think I got a black thumb in growing. :bashhead: :spank: :dueling:

Atleast I have 3 left :muahaha: :spank:

Transplanting seedlings into any MG soil is like sticking your kids in the microwave to dry them. WAYYYYYYY TO HOT. I know it can be done but it stunts the hell out of your plants anyways. Try a lighter soil mix and that'll probably give ya a better start. Just my two cents worth. :joint:

if you can use a spray bottle to keep the top of the soil moist at all times you won't have to worry about drowning your plants.

Agree with WeldFlash - MG soil for seedlings is like watching your baby being born then shoving a needle full of heroin into its vein and a crack pipe into its mouth.

UPDATE: Alright, it looks like one more might pull through. I hope it doesn't become a dwarf.

take the chance and TRANSPLANT IT to a soil with absolutely NO nutrients.I will pretty much bet that if youkeep them in that soil they,or sorry it will die.And when yout ransplant it(if its 2 weeks or less old)wash every bit of soil off the roots(very gently and slowly)then transplant in preferably pro mix.Best advise I could give.Had the problem when i first started out, that fixed it from some good advise from this site.

I just reread your thread, did you mean they got stuck in the paper towel after it dried? If thats the cas, next time cover the plate with foil or saran to keep the humidity super high, and keep it in a warm spot.
