ok guys a friend of mine just asked me to help him setup a room in his house.. after being impressed with my buds.. so he went out and grabbed 2 1000w hps systems.. mylared a 8x10x8 room.. now.. i was wondering. if its reasonable. to have 42 plants that finish between 3-4 feet tall .. and lower 1/3rd plant will be shaved off .. leaving a couple of the bigger more developed branches only.. we filled the room and it looks like if all goes well and the stretch stops now i mite have a chance of making it work.. but this is the question... if u had tooo many plants for a room .. would u just lollipop the plants and fit as many as u can and take off all the side branches. or.. just kill some of the plants'

personaly i dont know what to do . i dont run big plants.. and if i was going to . id only run 16 plants under 2 1000s unless they were like really compacted and not branchy plants at all .

basicly im giving them about 6 inchs inbetween each plant.. so nothing is touching. .. do u guys think that it would be any different then having bigger plants .. as long as he cuts it own to a couple bigger branches per plant.. or just cut the amount of plants in half..

what would be better harvest wise he needs to make this one count or hes not going to be able to afford to get the other 4 rooms in the house up.. he needs as much of a harvest as possible so he can make 4 rooms have 4 600s in each.. then use the room he has now as a veg room with 2 1000s on light movers.. then hes all set and just needs to keep his clones up and going but ..

iunno if he can do it personaly .. but hes asking me to maybe oversee his shit and make 1/3rd the harvest for just making sure he makes it to a harvest.

such to think, with respect to you example 42 specimen with respect to 2kw and such and such size area to space what is realistic with respect to specimen traits and such variables?

what is you realistic harvest idea with respect to specimen, and for acheive this goal you can visualize the amount per specimen for achieve you result

keep with mind efficiency of canopy coverage and diminishing return value maths such is preference and much variables genetics and efficiency of gardening such and such

for example you think 2# each lamp, such total 4# example

for such numbers to match, each specimen must contribute for total

more specimen less veg
less specimen more veg
veg is moments, moments is energy
at where to focus energy? hehehe

am keen to think if you are not restrict to specimen count, garden with SOG method but not need for to garden this specimens such height, rather clone veg a few moments and flower

is difficult to do things when already before to start is advance away 1/3 of future potential harvest
if such thinks make more difficult to the friend, and also you join to help friend is also difficult to you indirectly

perhap help to friend gratis and at when more stable such favor and friendship can return at when it can flow freely and grow with love

I thought I wrote a response to this but I would try 16 big plants under two 1ks... I'm about to start using 2 vertical 600's in a 4x4 room with 4 plants...

BG.. id say depending on how they are .., like no side branchin.. id say.. toss as many as u want. and then if need be kill some if u have no room for them.. or lollipop them more so u can fit more. ..
look at it like this.. atleast u have enough to make a nice harvest.. now.. spread them out enough so side branching can grow nice and full buds.. or.. cut off side branches and u can practicaly stack the plants right next to eachother for a kinda oversized SOG. id say just prune them so u can fit as many as possible and work with what u got.. if u have ran the strains before once they stop stretch give enough light so the plant can grow nice size buds everywere. and ull be ok.

im used to SOG .. but i run a SOG.. then while thats flowering. im vegging for my non SOG nice big plants.... then take enough clones off the big plants to have them root then by the time they others are done flowering. i have clones ready to flower out in a SOG.. while the others VEG for the non SOG...... works pretty good.. get a nice harvest both ways.. and keeps the rooms as productive as possible.

also depends how the strain is .. are the strains COLA DOM.. or just mad golfball size nugs everywere.. or what.. the more single cola dom the strain the more u can fit under the lights.

That sounds like an excellent plan ITS.

I am on my first grow, using a 600W HID lamp plus two Kessil LLEDs in a 4'X4' tent,
but already have set up a T-8 lit clone table.

I am struggling to visualize the optimal process/cycle, and your approach was provocative.

I will stop the thread-jack now....sorry OP, but if anyone can post the URLs of any threads
that discuss these sorts of productions cycles in general, then please post them.

80 sq ft requires 4000 watts.....Doin it with half that makes the plants struggle under less than optimal conditions , not to mention environmental needs.......

My 2 cents from all them yrs.........DHF...........
