Steve Kubby, medical grower says 80 percent female from starting seeds under 12/12....What does everybody think? He says that you can start out seedlings under a hps on 12/12 and get 80 percent female to male ratios. He says breeders try to keep this a secret (this guy has been known as a big medicinal grower up in canada) Urban grower tours his place on occasion.

Same set of videos. This one is called germinating, this is made in association with some guy related to Steve Kubby. Watch this guy plant the plants. Germinating
He is planting seedlings making some very profound observations. This guy seems to be thinking, he can create a male from this. He claims it is 16th generation Romulan he will be working with so, it makes it seem as though a lot of the current thoughts on this board don't make sense (breeding and true and 'untrue' females/males). He probably has an idea of what he is talkin about. Feel free to put in your two cents.

I honestly don't think it can. I didn't watch the video, but it's like any other breeding. Look at the Chinese(I think it's the Chinese). They've been trying for years to figure out how to balance out m/f ratios. It's either a feminized seed or it's not. I don't have a problem with anyone correcting me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a pretty simple subject.

I started 9 seeds under a 250 watt HPS, with a lighting schedule of 12/12 (Actually, it was 12, but 3 never popped.), and I got two males and a hermie. So I got 66.6% females. (50% if you count the three that didn't go.)

So where does that leave us?

I'm gonna go with gmb on this one. Maybe that guy is just very lucky or that much better a gardener than I am. I don't know.

It could be true, i dont kno for sure. but i've been experimenting with the 12/12 from seed method, and outta 5 plants (one might be a hermie, too soon to tell), they were ALL female... but that could just be good luck. plus it was only 5 plants, thats hardly a good amount to experiment on... but theres my 2 cents.
