Hola Tommy. Hope everything's cool for you and yours man.

This diary's a bit overdue, I wanted to do it from seed but it wasn't possible. Never mind, we're in time for the good bit.

So...

Jack47.

I've got previous with this baby. I've had her before and know for a fact there are some beast plants to be had from this line. Hazy, smelly, big yielding really frosty bitches can come out of these packs. The plan is; find that one on this run.

They're 1 week into 12/12/ now and they're in 30L black sacks of coco.

I'm debating whether to run these vertically or tie them down/pinch them and run then laterally...

They're big healthy bushes, but because I've been making new digs for them - which they're moving into today - they haven't been trained for vertical from the get go, so that might be a pain in the ass... I'll take pictures as they are now and when they're in place.

Anyway... let's see how it goes.

In a bit yo ;)

Right, sorry for the lack of updates. I've been hampered by a few things.

First of all my old cheap-but-reliable camera, broke... The one I'm using is shitty. I've fucked around trying to get good light but so far can't do it. But that's the least of my problems.

Let me run down my miserable list of woes..

For the first time I've encountered thrips. which is fucking great. Even though I've never seen them before I knew what the damage to the leaves indicated and when I checked closely, that's what it was. Trouble is in the UK there's nothing that deals with them to wipe them out completely. I've heard spinosad is where it's at when it comes to terrorising the little bastards, but it's only available stateside, so I got some of that.

To be honest the damage from them doesn't seem to be that bad at the moment, seeming to go no further than a few shit up leaves. If that's as bad as it gets before spinosad reaps it's revenge on them, I'm cool.

More of a problem has been the cold. Night time temps haven been getting stupidly low. There's a thermostatically controlled heater in there now and they're now snug in the night.

Then there's the training.

My lack of training for them to be vertical has meant I've had to make do with their current shape and make the best out of it with this style instead of my preferred option.

This way is the more orthodox way I think (bulbs between plants) based on seeing how people do vertical grows by and large. I prefer to do it a different way from the beginning but there was no chance this time, so I'm working with what I've got.

Also, because of how they had to be kept crammed together before they moved to their new space, they have stretched too much and the growth isn't as solid and just isn't how I'd like it to be.

All in all getting the new area prepared for them and the time it's taken has allowed situations to develop in a way which I'm not happy with.

But.. I can't moan really.
The plants, despite everything, look healthy.
If I find a good lady she'll be a mum and I'll go on from there and give it a proper go.
I do solemnly swear to rock the shit out of these bitches in the near future. But for now; something to bide the time.

Hi papaduc, the monster is lookin green and very healthy. Great work, mate!
A tip for the pictures is to create an album, uploading your pics there, and then, you can share the link IMG into the post and the picture will be visible. In each post, you only can share 5 pics.
hope this helps you my friend ;)

Close to chop day now....

It looks as though I didn't find that pheno I was looking for... not out of 8 plants anyway :(

That's the way it goes I suppose. I've got more jacks on the go from seed, so hopefully it's in there.

These are nice though, and in terms of yield and other aspects, I'm not even measuring those things on this run. With better conditions from the beginning these phenos could easily be double the size next time... alas, I will only keep one of them to run again.

The keeper Jack I was looking for is a deep funky hazy smelly incense kind of smell. It's a massive yielder and it's got great mold resistance. It's a true keeper.... and I lost it in the process of rebuilding, thinking it would be easy to find again because I've had it twice before.... fuck....

If I find her again I'll take better care of her, that's for sure.

Til then, here's some photos from this run

Thanks brother Jay.... I think I will enjoy them.

Can I ask, has the breeding of Jack47 changed in any way in the past 2-3 years?

These are still lovely frosty plants, but they don't have the same characteristics as the old jacks I used to know. Different structure and smell etc.

Cheers papaduc ;)
sorry, but i can't help you with this because i don't know this information.
i think the breeders always use the same plant for making seeds, but i will try to ask to my colleague about this.
Sweet smokes!
