I might haven't stressed it enough, so here:

THIS WEED HAVE BEEN GROWN UNDER A 45w CFL. TAKE IT INTO CONSIDERATION WHILE READING THE REPORT.
Also, temps were constant 26-30°C, was purely organic since middle veg and had 95% milky- 5% amber trichomes while harvested.
Have let to dry in the pot while not being cut over a period of around 2 weeks.

Had a puff off some 8 Miles High yesterday and though a smoke report would be nice.
You could catch up on the grow log in here - https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=174932

LOOKS - kinda airy buds (probably because it was grown under a single 45W CFL), dark green \ brown color, thin pistils.
It was a bit premature.

SMELL - the smell came out only after getting in the jar for a day. before that it barely had a smell.
I never needed a carbon filter when growing it. (I usually need one from week 2 of flowering)
After hitting the jar for a day the buds got some smell, but FAR from anything interesting. Smells like weed.
Not fruity for sure, a bit earthy. Peppery.

After looking and smelling the buds I've rolled a small (around 0.2g, it more that enough for me with most strains) doobie and started smoking it.

Humidity of the buds was pretty ideal. The first half of the joint kept on burning and the second half needed re-lighting after each 2 hits.

Taste - this weed is TASTELESS. Nothing nothing nothing.

Smoothness - Pretty smooth but easy to over-hit as there's not taste to the smoke.

It barely expands in the lungs.

Around 4 minutes after finishing the small doobie the high started.
First thing - I got thirsty.
Next thing - I got hungry.

It felt like the thinking part of my brain went fishing.
Following things became pretty hard, and seemed useless.

After 30 minutes the high came on full power.

I sat in front on the PS2 and it fitted pretty nicely.

It had a nice mellow pain killing effect. Lifted muscle pressure and aches but not in a way that makes you feel like you don't have bones.
I don't think it would be the thing for serious pain-relief issues but for a sour back after a long day of work I think it would be a great option.

After a hour and a half and some chocolate I realized I'm hungry enough to start cookin' some pancakes.

Unlike most strains I've smoked it wasn't a hard task at all!
I made them without wrecking the kitchen. I think.

2 hours and 4 pancakes with nutela knock-off later I went for a few more minutes on the PS2 and the high started wearing off.

It was 3:45AM (don't have much to do today) already and I headed to bed.
I usually have trouble sleeping but this time it was surely easier.

I was still high when going to sleep to the high lasts more than 2 hours, but it becomes more subtle after around 1:45-2:00 hours.

Woke up this morning after 5 hours of sleep and feeling like new.

As for the potency - I'd rate it at 6.5\10.
It is not STRONG, but it surely isn't weak.
It a BIT under the average potency of what I usually grow.

When thinking about what strain to grow I emailed Manadala and asked them about the potency of the 8 miles high.
The claim it has "potency that will rock your socks off".
Well, it didn't. And it took it 80 days to not fully finish (not 65-70 days).

Hope it helped someone :D

a single 45w cfl is well below the recommended light levels for this and most strains. not really representative of what the strain can do under optimal conditions. sounds like you got a nice buzz from it. i'm sure more flavor potency and aroma would develop growing under more intense light. maybe trying one of the strains mandala checks off in their strain guide as "low light" would give better results in your set up. thanks for the report.

Theres a difference between not much taste to NO taste.
As for the aroma and the looks i'm sure your right. Yet, I ran other strains other very low lights that gave off MUCH MUCH MUCH more stench.

Probably the potency is not the maximum as well.

I took it all into consideration while writing the report.

I chose the strain based on Mandala Seeds recommendation via email.
I ran the other 9 seeds under harsh conditions along with some other strains, while I got 2 out of 7 seeds to die with other strain I got 100% death rate with the 8 Miles High.
I was hoping to give them another shot but high temps killed them faster than other strains.

And that's nice of you, but a 45W will yield not so great bud, it can affect taste, potency, high and so on.

It can do all kind of things - those I am reviewing.
I thought I mentioned what light was used pretty boldly so people can take that into consideration when reading the report.

Yet, its not the best way to grow weed. Never said it was.
But I believe that its still weed and that I can write a report about it.

While I do agree that it is unfair towards the strain to assess it when it has been grown under such conditions, I don't see the harm in it either. It is clearly stated that the plant is grown under a single 45 W CFL lamp. What's up with the hate?
I actually thought it to be a nice experiment. Good luck with future grows mate.

Ok let's set things straight about 8 Miles High from Mandala Seeds. I grew it back in 2009 in a tent under a 400w HPS lamp and it did great. When growing it smelled like flowers and a sweet lemony perfume. After harvest, drying, and into curing it smelled like fruit when i opened the jar. The high was a very nice and balanced sativa creative buzz mixed with a slight indica muscle relaxation. It's a great strain for those who want a mixed buzz that's higher on the sativa side.

Here it was before harvest:

Mine was different.

I would have grew it in more proper terms if any of the 9 seeds survived. (most of my other seeds did)

Thats why I can only write about this one.

All of this may be true but you dont do a smoke report on premature weed. People make judgements off of these smoke reports on if they want to buy a strain or not.

it wasn't premature, it let to grow 10 days over what the breeder states.
It was over all milky trichomes.

I haven't called it nothing.
I kind of like it.
Buy it or not - your problem. I don't recommend it for other reasons.
However, this is what you might expect if you GROW IT UNDER A 45W CFL.

Well, strain quality is partly luck as well. Maybe you just got unlucky. Mine already has quite a bit of smell. Kind of a melon smell. I have no clue what the high will be like yet tho. I'm still excited.

Well i love Mandala's genetics, but i agree that for a proper report it has to be grown right, lighting, soil, air flow, curing, and picking it at the right time.

I looked at your other grow and its legit, but this one was like so so.

You stated that you grew it 10 days over the recommended pulling time, but with that low of a wattage it was still premature i bet...

I respect you for the report bro for sure!

All trichomes were milky with around 5% being amber.
I wouldn't call it premature.

I would have liked it to go another week to get more ambers, but couldn't.
