best bet is to duct tape it w/ high temp tape, seals that baby right up. kinda sucks if your constantly changing bulbs but alcohol wil get off the sticky stuff left after you take the tape off, hth

If you keep negative pressure on your lighting system, most of them will seal themselves pretty well. I can hear all the glass in mine sucking up to the gasket on my Silverstars. I ran a cigarette around the lens and no smoke was getting sucked into the light (that I could see), so it's a pretty decent seal.

Don't use duct tape on a light tho - the glue will break down much quicker (from the heat) and it leaves nasty residue. If you need to use tape, use the foil backed AC tape...it'll hold up to the temps alot better.

The best way as far as cheap and fast and reliable is the same way the hvac guys do it, get a 30" ziptie and a ziptie cutter thing that auto cuts and tightens it. You will be so glad you started doing ducting like this and be thanking me you spent the money in trade for saving your whole day dicking with the shit. BTW, use insulated ducting if you are not a/c'ing your room or have little a/c btu'age left to cool the room. The heat does travel through the duct work when its not insulated letting some of the heat back into the room. The most important thing I've found is that too many lights in a row gets pointless unless you start making circuits for intake and exhaust into another circuit with T's or Y's. It decreases drag and increases heat removal.

Bell lighting technology makes an aluminum hood that keeps heat away from your plants with only a 4" hole... its actually one of the best all around hoods I've used.
