750w lumitek ballasts and bulbs = 1000watt magnetic?

i bought 5 used 750 watt lumitek ballast kits with a timer board and all the plugs n shit for a hella deal. 500$ they all work well. but the bulbs are not new and needed to be replaced. i found only 1 750watt hps bulb supplier GE lucalox PSL. a photosynthesis light lol..

anyways my question is do these digital ballasts accually cost less to run, or produce more light? something that would make them close to or equal with the light production of 1k hps. the guy i bought them off of a private sale, said that the grow shop where he bought them told him that they equalled 1ks?

anyone run these lights? i bought them because of the deal but i need the penetration that a 1ks has.

anyone else heard this?

also anyone else run GE lucalox psl bulbs? i would likie some info before replacign the 5 bulbs lol.

They are pretty close. I tested before. I think hood was blockbuster 8" or magnum 8"
1000 watt magnetic was 1250par 1.25 watt
1000 quantum was 1370par 1.37 watt
750 lumatek was 1050 par 1.4 watt
600 lumatek was 880 par 1.46 watt

almost all digital 1000w ballasts. have 750w guts!! . its wierd i was told this from a hydro guy who has had 30-40 come threw his doors for repair.. and he opened them to find guts for 750.. so now he pushes.. 600w digis and 1000w mags.. instead. and lets people know before they buy them.. that 600w lights are better off for better coverage .. ull get a denser harvest with 4 600s then 2 1000s.

And your hydro guy makes twice as much.

I call BS. 1000w ballasts have 1000w "guts" in them. Otherwise they'd only draw (and power) 750w.

I'm not sure how anyone could even believe that story. Wanna buy a bridge?

ya kuz i need to sit up on here making up shit.. not because i saw it wen i went in to get a new ballast cause mine blew after the warranty was up. but no i am lieing hahah. and my hydro guy gives me 600w ballasts refurbished with a 5 year warranty for 60 bucks.. so ya he makes tons of money.. seeing how 1000w ballasts mag or digi are way over 60 bucks..
and I personally took apart a couple ballasts at the store because i didnt believe it.. but look around on the forums.. theres a kid on here who has 1000w ballasts that are 750w guts.. so umm ya my hydro guy is ripping me off hardcore hahaha . nah ur getting fucked not me bro i got the hook up

Most places a 600 isn't much less than a 1k. Glad you got a deal. As long as your happy. I'm confident my Solis-Tek is what its advertised to be.

Why not link to the forum post of someone showing the internals? Googling it doesn't bring up much more than your couple of posts on it.

I use the 750w 240v lumateks with 1k HPS and dual arc bulbs. No issues.
