72 Plant Bust In Alaska

Anchorage, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers made a drug bust in Fairbanks that they say had a potential street value of more than $250,000.

Seventy-two marijuana plants were found in a duplex that had been converted into a growing room. Troopers say no arrests were made, but they're looking for at least two people.

Normally I wouldn't be too worried about this but I believe that this could've been a friend of mines (5 years) grow-op. I don't want to post too much info because it's still a on going investigation and paranoia has the best of me but if this is the guy I am thinking of, he gave me some damn good advice and he did mention a duplex grow in Fairbanks to me. Just a small world :yoinks:

i thought it was legal to grow in alaska ?? i remember Alaskan OGers would talk about it. guess i got confused.

you already posted too much info man. patriot act. run! :angrymod:

seriously though that sucks man, good luck to your friend. if it is him.. id recommend brazil for a while. its a pretty nice place.

every time i read about a bust, its about some residential home in anytown, usa being converted into a grow house. people always get suspicious about a home that has no occupants, but has a car pull up every once in a while. people should start using moving blow up dolls like in Home Alone..

best of luck dude.

What the quote doesnt say is that they were a block away from Tanana middle school.

But apparently, AST wasnt too concerned about them peddling herb to the kiddies.

And we alaskans dont have a permit to grow weed. I believe its more tolerable though than any other state.

The laws are so confusing, but Moose eater is the man packed with the current info on our laws. I think we can have an ounce in our homes....not sure on how many plants a med patient can grow.

It's legal to grow some plants, but 72...

And I just quoted from the news place, I didn't know it was by a school either.

Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution’s right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska). Possession of 25 or more marijuana plants is “Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree” and is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 or five years in prison.-----Norml.org

With One ounce no punishment if in your home. 25 plants and one ounce.
LOL gotta sell it to make sure you are always under your one ounce.
