Where did you buy this pack?
Could be you're lucky with females + cold issues, but could be anything else.

Cheers

well the room can get chilly this time of year ............... its just i was reading the purple malawi was a rare pheno.................... to get 7... and the bud structure to seems very indica when compareing to pics here on the forum of the newer batches

i got them from a well known seed bank in unopened original packs with the year of harvest on the back as 2012

the pics are not the best but i hope you get my point in the wider shot you see 3 phenos all purplle and all with thick indica like bud formation ................ there is something wrong because there budding up as quick as my blueberry indica ......

also upon doing some reading in the malawi thread there other people reporting exceptionally short flowering times 58 days 65 days ect

i grow afropips malawi and that took nearly 100 days

So I have experienced like surges in flowering, where you may think a plant is done... she pauses for a few days, then packs on more weight... So maybe they are not as close to done as one might think...

What are your night temps again? Those are some pretty red petioles...

its only on day 36 of flowering.............. and its in a room with zamidelica and nevilles haze........ and the bud formation is so far ahead of those , it looks like a tall indica...

temps got as low as 16c a few nights back, that's the lowest iv seen it

gut feeling just tells me something's not right................... this isn't pure ...... its hybridized in my opinion

That purple shade reminds me a lot of pck, not so purple malawi. Maybe you got a cross with pck but dunno if it was out at that time when you got your pack.
Dubi should clarify this, we can only guess and chat :)

I just finished my malawi id been sitting on for a few years. Id say the bud structure was very similar, but i didnt get any purple at all. My room can get chilly, and purples are common, but they were green as green can be.
Mine were probably bought around 2014ish.

I can't speak to the frequency of the purple pheno beyond what you've read, as I've only popped a few Malawi seeds, but yours looks similar to the one I've been running for a year or so now. Mine are normally done 8-9 weeks from pistols. I got two to finish last year outside at 45 latitude. They really are fast. The only issue is that they aren't as vigorous.

My friend grew a cut of mine outside last summer, along with another cut that was from my purple mother pollinated by a male green Malawi. It was a green pheno, but finished before the purple even. The purple yielded 3 ounces and the green yielded 20.

So not a great yielder, but I still find myself going for the purple pheno over the green every time. It's got this taste I can't find anywhere else, and the buzz is top notch. Long lasting, energizing, and focusing, as long as I don't overindulge.

Yours sounds like the purple plant I grew from the 1st fem release Morglie.Very little vigour compared to her sisters with a very indica type structure. Was also by far the best tasting Malawi girl I had,had a sweet coconut, licorice purple taste and smell to her

I don't think I've ever bought Ace seeds from a wholesaler, always direct from the source;) Less chance of screw ups and totally killer customer service.
That said, your Malawi pack looked totally legit. In fact, I think I have the same one in the fridge, have to check the date. Only popped one bean from it and she was a green new killer type.
