6kw/12 hood basement build, new member!

Hello ICMAG! I'm new here, LONG time lurker finally turned member. Don't like childish games or B.S. on most of the forums I've visited, and I keep coming back here...

4 years as a Michigan patient, 3 years as a caregiver -- and 3 years of legal battles in the MI court system over a Felony DUI (for pot) that's FINALLY getting withdrawn and dismissed. Time to get back into things.

My plan is to build 1 sealed room and separate it into 3 separate rooms. Two flowers and a 6' veg area in the middle. 6kw in each flower room. Dual-zone split AC, one in each flower. 75lb CO2 tank in "laundry room", outside of the grow, with the Flipbox and ballasts.

I'm moving away from my idea of using vented hoods for bare bulbs. Right now I've got 2 Magnum XXL's, 2 Lumateks, and a Titan 240v controller to get the few plants I've got flowered, which in turn covers the cost of upgrading equipment (and paying off my Credit Cards).

So... where I'm at now:

Ripped old basement shop/storage rooms out...
Put up some 2x6 and 2x4 walls...
Roughed in some electrical for the rest of the basement
CLEANING, CLEANING, CLEANING (though I never take pics after I clean?)

Need some more drywall, 2x4's, and 50' of 4/3 wire instead of the 25' I thought I'd get away with...

My to-do-list...

Acid etch floor for epoxy coating
Get outlets for basement (outside of the room) wired in so I can stop using 50ft extension cords
Drywall
Finish laying out utility rooms and laundry room
Move laundry hookups
Get the rest of the f--king garbage out of the basement

I just really need a place to put my ideas down so I can police myself through the project, and stop changing my mind.

Well, thanks for the forum... I'm here to stay :woohoo:

Running a 2 flower room setup with a dedicated veg room, you might want to plan for a drying room if you haven't already.

Best of luck to ya. I'll be stopping back in to see how this progresses.

Thanks guys... my last grow in my old house was 6x8 perpetual flower with 4x8 veg area, so this one has a considerably bigger footprint.

Marco, drying room will be a neccesity though I've gotta work that out with the fiance... I'm already taking up 300sq ft of basement :D

Pic is of my last grow, before heading to jail last year.

Did some more work last night... laid my walls the rest of the way out, got doorway marked, bottom plates down, scrubbed the floor for epoxy coating (multi-day process).

Heading to lumber store on my lunch for 40 more 2x4's, 20 sheets of drywall and a whole list of other odds and ends.

50a plug, there'll be a closet for lighting controllers, ballasts, etc. with a super-quiet bath fan on a thermostat (>90 deg fan runs)

I'll snap some more pics when I'm home on lunch

Didn't have enough room for a legit "drying room" so it'll be more like a drying closet 6x4' ... if it doesn't work well, I'll have to figure something else out. it'll be behind that treated 2x4 on the floor (behind the black wire/50a plug)

Tops of studs aren't attached, I ran outta time

Gonna FINISH my framing tonight, or at least until I run out of 2x4's again... so I can get my darn floor coated. Rained all weekend so I couldn't... I got my door for the room this weekend too, so floor paint... then finish the separator walls... then finish my drywall, paint... hoping to be up and running first week of August.

I'm just following powerbox's instructions, they're working with my local Sunlight rep... so however they tell me to install I will. EYE tried getting me hooked on 6 ballasts when I called them about lamp placement, but I kinda like the Quantum's better... and I'm def. ditching Lumatek after hearing about RF noise in homes.

Only had about 2 hours last night to put in...

Outside of the washer/dryer... won't have a door, just a 48" archway maybe? I need more electric boxes too and Menards doesn't have any 2 gangs, sold out till at least thursday... inconvenient!

Other than that, I didn't get shyt done. Need 40 more 2x4's and 26 more sheets of drywall to finish. I'm almost 50 sheets of drywall and 250 boards into this project.

48k BTU mini-split, 36k in each room (only one will ever be on). Crank case heater for the A/C unit since it gets mighty cold in Michigan in the winter :D

I saw 4-5k BTU for bare bulbs, I figure 6 bulbs x 5k BTU = 30k ... 36k should do the trick. Buying locally most likely so parts are easily accessible.
