Hell yeah we've got muscle here.Nice pick for a project "Harvest". My first fast car was a 67 Cougar XR7 with a 351 cleveland in it.It was automatic on the floor C4.That sucker moved.Bought it for 150.00. I had three xr7's all together 2 69's and the 67.
My first true muscle car was a 70 chevelle ss396.Bored out to a 401.It was anice car.Had allthe good stuff.Muncie rock crusher tranny.4:11 posi, 4 spd, cowl induction, tach in the dash.Original ss wheels.AND......it was a bench front seat..rare.
I drove it for 2 yrs.Blew the motor and sold it for the price I paid for it 2800.00.
Then I went Mopar.lol.I bought a 65 sport fury convertible for 250.00.Drove it home..lol.It needed alot but I did it.Rebuilt motor and tranny. 383..727.Unfortunately I soldit before the body work was done.I found a parts car for it with the supercommando engine for 350.00.Sold that too.
My husband has a 57 Merc hes rebuilding and we have a 67 Mustang 6 cylinder and a 70 comet with a 302.
I'm not gloating just excited to find another weed grower that also loves cars. I didn't pay a lot for any of my cars. The buys come along..the key is to not wait when they come along..
Can't waitto hearmoreabout the project...peace BL

Mecum Auctions is one of the largest auto auction brokers in the country/world.

Locally some of their auctions appear on the "HDTV" cable channel - an HD-only channel.

Check out the Cobra on their front page that sold for $7.25 million. Carroll Shelby was there to autograph the hood for the new buyer. This car was one that Shelby himself raced in 1965.

Heck - frame-off restorations of Chrysler muscle cars can go for as much as $250,000.00 if it's the right car and equipment (original), rarity, etc.

Awesome car there man! I love that year. My favorite is the 66. I have '65 'cuda, that I am about to start working on again. It was a project back in '98 before I left for the service. Can't wait for pics!!!

My first fast car was a 67 Cougar XR7 with a 351 cleveland in it.

Was that the one with the headlights that had a mechanical cover that went over them when off?

Damn Ijust wrotea history of all my cars and deleted by accident..DOH!!
I share your love of muscle cars.First was a 67 Cougar xr7 with a 351 cleveland in it. C4 on the floor. It flew especially for only 150.00.Those were the days..lol.I like Mopars too.I owned a couple 65 sport fury convertibles. Both were purchased for under 400.00.I drove one of them home. :)
My most popular car I had was a 70 chevelle ss396.They were bored out to 402 that yr.It had factory ss wheels, cowl induction, tach in the dash, muncie 4 spd, 4:11 posi, a bench front seat which was rare.I bought it in 1981 for 2800.00, blew the motor two yrs later, and sold it for 2800.00.
The closest thing my husband and I have to a muscle car now is a 70 Comet with a 302 init. All original.Good luck with your project...peace BL

My first car, uh-real car, was a 1971 Ford Torino w/a 351 Cleveland and a 771 blower on it. I wrecked it in a horrible, firey crash.
I then tricked out a '70 Cobra Jet Torino. (429 SCJ is my fav engine) I wrecked it too...
Won't even say what happened to the '70 Cyclone. (Also 429 SCJ.)
I've been drivin' the same giant Caddy for 18 years now. I slowed down, I'm kinda addicted to breathin'.

Ya, I live in the country, back in the early 80's, driving like idiots were all we did 'round my parts.
My SCJ Torino ruled the scene until ol' Dougie showed up with the meanest Hemi I've ever seen.
Nobody could touch that '66 Charger fastback. I thought it was ugly tho'.

My first car was a 55 Ford Custom 292cuin with a toilet bowl quad, then a 51 Ford Flathead V-8 3 spd on the col. I only drove that car for a month while on leave in 1968. Then a Ford Capri and a 64 Chev malibu 327 auto the a 71 Plymouth Satillite Sebring 318 4 brl auto I put on Hooker headers.Sold it and the next was a 48 Ford P/u 229 Flathead 6 bored .40 over. 3 spd floor shift,it had a 51 Ford Car rear axle so the old girl would do 70 I got a ticket to prove it. Had a 71 Ford F150 351 4 x4 and then got into VWs a 62 bug a 68 bug a 77 station wagon,81 Jetta and a 82 westphalia.traded it for an 88 Camaro 2.8 4 spd bought it new and drove it for 17 years 289K miles. now I have an 05 PT CRuiser 2.4 turbo 188 hp quick little car fun to drive. I started driving at 16 and have driven for 46 years. no wrecks and not to many tickets

Shit~~~Did he run that 383/6pack ???

I had a guy do me the same way. Back in 1972 while stationed at Sembach AFB... Had a 1968 Mustang Fastback, 351 Cleveland, Edelbrok H/R,Holly, Posi Rear,,, dam that pony would eat up the quarter, mid 9s
low 10s. I ruled for 18 months.

And then comes this older cat (older to me at the time) about 30ish. With what I thought was the ugliest TANK of a looking car. The 1966 Dodge Charger.

He pull's out to the tree, Our tires are bleached/Smoked~~~Im listening to the announcer LOOKING at this ugly ass car thinking,,,"Im Gonna Smoke You Mister" waiting for the green.
Im "The Plague" He's "Houdini"

Im focused on the strip ahead~~~here comes the light.

I'm off NOTICING IMMEDIATELY that I was NOT walking on this one as I usually do in the past.

9:14 Houdini~~~The Plague 9:49

SHIT~~~IM GOOD~~~But that dam car would scream.

Yup he packed a 383 wit dat dam 6 pack set up.:whistling:
(Should have been illegal)

I never did BEAT that fokker~~~But Roger and I became friends.

I had a 71 chevelle, with a fresh goodwrench engine, iceberg white, loud and fast. The x wife got that and the 1930 model A in the divorce. and the 4 wheel drive. Guess who got the house? ME! LOL

Yeah we got horsepower
1963 Impala SS409 dual quads, Doug Nash 5 speed, Corvette rear end. Engine was rebuilt .30 over 12 1/2 to 1 compression 3 inch exhaust and on and on.110 octane race gas only..and yeah that baby screamed. Now i've got a 1996 Camaro SS with blower running around 550 horsepower..29,000 miles. It's the special edition SLP.
