ya, this i found remarkably amazing.. its a car, capable of traveling 350 miles on a single charge, which may i add takes roughly $3.50 cents worth of electricity and 10 minutes to do.. oh it's completely electric.. i'd love to see one of these in action. its not that bad lookin of a design either. you figure most electric cars look like total sci-fi junk.. check out this article guys.. 644hp... wild.

electric cars have always looked and performed so poorly. i think they'll blow up when a decent lookin performance model like this comes out.

But at 60k, ouch! Quite a jump from their sub-10k Zebra, but a leap in technology as well. It's interesting they state it's for the SUV driver who feels guilty about driving an SUV.

Where's the mid-range for us family sedan owners that are environmentally concious?! I can't drop $60k on a car, and the $10k just isn't feasible outside the city. I'm kinda incensed they can't offer a model in the $15-$20k price range with an eye towards the average family. I don't need 644 HP, or a top speed of 144.

Gimme something that'll go 200 miles a charge, and tops out at about 80 with a price tag in the $20s, and I'm all for it.

Give it a few years. Hybrid prices should be on their way down soon also. When you have enough people buying them, economy of scale comes into play.

For now, I ride a bike. Good thing I dont have to schlepp a family on my bike!

I watched a program where an electric car enthusiast group (can't remember if it was Zap or Killabyte) was trying to build an electric drag car. Originally it made so much torque it split the back axle, hell...it demolished it. After some tinkering I believe they made a decent quarter mile, at least for an electric car. Over 100 mph at the end, not real sure on the time though. They used an old mail truck too.
I believe the quickest quarter mile for an electric powered vehicle was made on the Killacycle, which did it in 8.760 seconds at 145 mph.

You cant beat an EV in acceleration(soon anyway)..no gears and the internal combustion engine works against itself..
