60amp sub panel help me NOT burn my house down

This is going to be completely sealed room with 3600 watts flowering and in the corner of the flower room will be a 600 watt veg tent.


Im going to run a 60 amp sub panel being fed with 6/3 romex from the main panel.

This sub panel will power a MLC 4 lights 3 1000 watts and a 600 watt for flower this lighting controller will be powered by a 30 amp breaker in the sub panel with a 10/2 romex.

Then there is a dedicated 240v circuit for a 600 watt veg tent im going to run this on a 12/2 romex on a 20 amp breaker.

I am cooling this room with a 2 ton mini split probably carrier brand. i believe this would go on a dedicated 20 amp breaker also with 12/2 romex.

Finally 2 120 circuits on 20 amp breakers for 2 oscilating fan a water pump to water with my wand and maybe some t5s for extra veg/clones. and a few miscellaneous things. i believe these circuits need 12 awg with 12/2, 1 hot, 1 neutral, and 1 ground Correct?

Does This panel sound safe or is it gonna burn the house down?

Also with 3600 watt flowering and 600 watt veg all in the same room should i get the 2 ton mini split and not air cool my lights????? Or should i get an 18000 Btu and aircool the lights?? i live in the desert in so cal 120 temps are very common 3 months outa the year. Im pretty confused on what size ac to use considering my climate???

I had a 2 ton window unit cooling 3200 watts all the way up to 4600 watts with aircooled lights. but mini splits are different i reckon.



Basically i need to know is this panel is safe? And maybe a little help with my AC dilemma?

2 ton 4K but veg with t8s and save some chedda

i grow lots of og and they are stretchy viney bitches, vegging under hps works better for me.. the only reason i dont do 4k is i already have the extra equip sitting around. 2 ton is probably what ill be getting unless i can be convinced otherwise.

what do you mean "ditch the ac lights"??

this is my first panel im doin by myself, me and my electrician had a falling out. so it time to learn to do it myself.

So my knowledge is correct in assuming that a neutral wire isnt used on a dedicated 240 circuits. ex. my 240 only mlc, and my 240 only veg tent, and 240 only ac none would use a neutral only a ground? because its dedicated 240v correct?

I've been researching for weeks I just really dont want to mess it up.

Hot, neutral & ground on the 110
Unless you buy a 4 wired controller like the powerboxes you wont need any 4 wires except to the panel
My ac and powerbox are 3 wire
I think my panel is #4awg
Bare bulb ftw!
It will help control humidity so you dont have to run a dehuey with the lights on
Oh yea... You might want to ask someone about properly grounding the panel...
 
Im positive i know how to ground the panel. In the main panel the ground and the neutral terminate into the same bus bar. However in the sub panel the neutral is terminated to its own bus bar the neutral bus bar should not be bonded to the panel (remove bonding screw).

Then the ground is terminated to its own bus bar in the sub panel which is bonded to the panel box. the sub panel is in an attached room.

i believe then the sub panel would be grounded and hooked up right?

Yep, you've got it.

Regarding your earlier question, straight 240v does not utilize a neutral. Some appliances, like ranges, use 120v controls and misc. stuff, so they have 4-wire plugs and are served with 120/240v. There are some lighting controllers that run straight 240v with 120v timers, but they use a "trigger cord" that plugs into an external 120v timer, eliminating the need to run a neutral into the controller.
 
thanks for input. My main box is oustide. i only have to run 6 ft up the wall outdoor before going inside.

Should i use outdoor wire or will nm-b rated wire be ok if i put it in conduit for that 6ft? im confused on this.
