What canopy height would you suggest in a 3' x 4' x 8' tent with a 600W HPS sealed reflector hood hooked up to a 6" 240 CFm duct fan? Just put it it and its at about 15" right now, not sure if i should get much closer
yeah, it seems like the 15" is right about where i can feel a descernable change in temperature. Its odd though, must be all infared, because my hood is almost cold to the touch with the cooling system i have in place, especially overnight with the widow open bringing in cold air.
That was another question: is it bad to be bringing in ~32-45 F air over the hot 600W HPS bulb? Theres no chance of somehow causing the bulb to shatter would there? theres about 12 feet of 6" bendy ducting before the air gets to the light.
Temp of tent stays at about 78-80 F
I just flipped my plant today to 12/12, and tonight when the lights came back on I saw my RH was at 83% (70F) and I am now trying to figure out a way to ventilate my tent either seperately from the 6" fan I have now with a smaller 4" fan, or if I should just kind of splice off the intake end and make about a 3" hole in the 6" duct to let the fan suck out air from the tent and cool off the lamp as well.
Do you think cutting a 3" wide hole about 6" away from where the duct attaches to the hood would be enough to allow for ventilation of the tent while maintaining the suction of the outside air to keep cooling off the lamp?
Not sure if doing so would cause the pressure to drop dramatically and make the situation worse.
Also the humidifier as well as everything else was off during the off period today. Not sure why just that plant itself made the humidity go up so high. Should I make sure that air is always flowing through the tent since there was essentially no air exchange for the 12 hours off?
I was scared of light leaks so I made sure everything was taped off and the vents were closed. Gonna need a lot more ducting Im thinking..
Not sure if I mentioned but Im using an appoximately 3' x 4' x 8' sun hunt grow tent
