600W Hortilux VS AGroMax??

OK, am going to down size one of my 100Ws and am wondering if anyone could give me some input on which bulb I should role with?? The Horti's have never let me down, but I am noticing that the Horti 600 is 80000 lums and 1600 hours approx while the AGroMax is 95000 lums with 24000 hours, so off the top it seems like the latter is the way to go, am I not taking something into consideration here?

Much marketing hype in horticultural lamps.

AgroMax is Chinese. Best lamps are made in USA and Europe.

Suggest Philips Son-T-Green Power 600WHPS if you can find one, rated at 93,000 lumens.

Also good are GE Lumalux, Sylvania Plantastar, SolarMax 600W HPS

Hortilux's is good too.

Lumen rating is tied to human visual response which peaks at 550 nanometers.

So, Hortilux at 80,000 lumens does work well; it does have more blue photons.

Try putting some T-5 HO fluorescents in a 6500 Kelvin in your bud room.

Think of lumens as horsepower, moles for PAR watts.

Interestingly, they have found that plants need UVA light down around 380 nm. Which is the lower limit our visual response.

PAR watts at 380 to 700 and our visual response is almost the same.

Phytochrome and the Cryptochome are the pigments in the leaf that tell plants spacing and when they are going generative, and the UVA photons that activate one chloryphyll molecule are below what is considered PAR.

This is why T-5 HOs in 65K and above are becoming so popular.

I hear what you guys are saying, but unfortunattly most sellers don't provide that kind of info in the bulb discriptions. So, any real deal bottom line brands that seem to be meeting those standerds in the 600W you guys mintion? Solarmax,Philips,Grolux or what??

There are many claims that the Sylvania GroLux / Osram Plantastar (now they're the same company, I believe) is superior to the EYE Hortilux Super HPS.

So I've tried looking around for the Sylvania GroLux to go along with my EYE Hortilux, and found a great deal on eBay from a seller named 'onlineelectricalwholesaler'. Whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM HIS GROLUX BULBS! He is selling used bulbs as new. When I received mine, I saw the familiar burn marks on the arc tube. Considering how I paid under $30 including shipping, I wasn't about to make a big stink and possibly cause retaliation. I didn't say a thing, just took the loss. But looking at his feedbacks reveal that others have had this same experience. And I'll bet there are many others who either didn't recognize them as used, or resolved it otherwise before taking it to feedbacks.

As they say, if it's too good to be true it usually is (most places will want about the same $$ as a Hortilux, or more).

Ebay is usually a last resourt after reading a thread on another sight titled PayPal and EBay are snitches, whictch went into a big thread that covered about 6 months while he was going to court talking about how PayPal which is now owned by EBay sent his EBay activity to LEO resulting in his bust.

Yeah Paypal is a Religous Right bunch, I wouldn't do biz with anybody who uses them.

A lot of my bro's swear by 600 Hortilux, I like 600 Philips Son-T-Green Powers. They are hard to find and expensive $120+-.
